I'm in danger of getting a big fat 0 in my forward line this week, with Didak out.

I have 2 non scoring rookies on my bench, Ballantyne and Sidebottom.

I need to sideways trade one of these rookies, the only problem is, there is not much available.

Basically my options are D%ck, Macaffer or Warren.

Which would you guys choose?

Mate, everyone has DT issues.

BUT not everyone makes a thread just for themselves!

There is a thread called "Trade discussion" where all of this stuff is talked about, have the courtesy to talk about your issues in that thread.

For the record go Ben Warren.

Ummm this is a forum isn't it? The purpose is to create discussions (in the form of threads). It's not like I'm creating threads every second, in fact this is my first.

I'm sure there are many in the same predicament as me, that is why I created a thread for it....it is more a discussion about forward rookies (or low cost forwards), rather than just a problem specifically to my dreamteam.

If it was a supposed to be a discussion about all forward rookies, then why was the whole post about your DT?

Its like some people have to be spoon-fed through every single trade they consider.

Read the trade discussion thread and you will find all you need to know. Better still, pose the same question in there are I am sure someone will give you a great answer.

Heaps of people need help for picking forward rookies, leave him alone and go tell mummy that people are making threads on bigfooty that are making you cry.

For the record though, Ben Warren, looks like likely to keep his spot

I think all 3 are in jeopardy of losing their spots with one sub par game.

Real risk and could be stuck with anothe rookie who doesn't play...

Warren, at least u know his price will go up next week. McAffer might not play a third game for a while. Dick isn't named this week.

Dowler is another one to consider, is only averaging 53, but his price will rise next week. Never know, could be the next moss.

Tough choice as forward rookies are going to be scarce this year. I'd probably go Warren. Job security keeps improving with the increasing amount of injuries and has been scoring quite well.

Good to see some people understand how forums work here!

Yeah Cizzler you make a good point, why buy a rookie that isn't guaranteed a spot.

I like Macaffer, he has a big strong body, but the competition for spots in the Pies forward line is huge, he would be the bottom of that list, with Dick being even lower.

I guess its Warren or nothing for me, might have to take a 0 this week for long term gain

Does anyone know if Ballantyne from freo is expected to play anywhere in the near future, or even this year. How's he traveling in the WAFL?

I'm pretty sure he's had an injured wrist for a while (since the pre-season), and might not return to any footy for a couple of weeks yet.

Yarran wouldn't be too far away. Has been in good form in the VFL so it's only a matter of time.

Firstly we dont let everyone create there own thread for their own dreamteam because we have around 5,000 DTer's who would clog up the forum. We have specific threads for this to keep all the questions in one place. Really rather than just asking a question in those threads answer someone elses. I will normally answer 1 or 2 above mine then ask mine. You get a lot better results by helping others then posing yours.

Secondly Ballantyne is Injured, why would he be playing in the WAFL? Im sure when hes fit he'll get the call up to the injury striken freo side. At the moment hes listed at 2 weeks but was expected to be back round 5ish so who knows.

Finally why buy a rookie whos not garenteed a spot? Because hes a rookie! For $86k you dont get job security you get a bargain. They are a rookie by nature their spot is always at risk with normally only 1-2 spots for rookies each week the competition is fierce to hold their spots. If you want job security spend $300k+

P.S. if you have a real hard time getting help read some threads, if someone who seems to have a clue helps others perhaps try PMing him. Most guys are happy to help someone outside their leagues and dont mind giving out some advice.

Also Sidebottom should probably make his debut when Malthouse gets the stones to drop barxham who was highly tipped to be dropped for his poor disposal in preference for Frontbum but it seems they will give him another chance.

I traded Walker to Warren, to fund an upgrade to Buddy. With Harvey and Campbell out, I'm hoping Warren gets a better role in the forwardline, and more time in the midfield.
I don't think he'll get a whole lot of midfield time, he's been playing primarily in the forward half, but he should definitely remain safe within the side.
