There is a severe shortage of them at the moment. It doesn't look like a 86k will get a game this week and are there any rookie list players that will even play a game for the season?

I will give a rundown of the Saints rookies and their chances of playing a game

Tom Lynch

Medium forward. High draft pick last year but is highly unlikely to get a game with Maguire on the sidelines and our twin towers. Not a lot of room in the forward line right now.

Chance: 10%

Paul Cahill

Another draft pick last year and another medium forward but very lightly framed. Needs a few summers in the gym.

Chance: 5%

Nick Heyne

Bargain of the draft taken at 47 last year. I rate this lad highly and plays a flanker and moving into the midfield probably in the future, very lightly framed but wouldn't be surprised to see him play a game if the injury list builds.

Chance: 25%

Khan Haretuku (or however it's spelt)

Probably going to be used in the ruck, but with McEvoy, Gardi, Kingy and Kosi + Blake pinch hitting it's hard to see him getting a game. No chance of playing FF with the twin towers

Chance: 5%

Ross Tungatalum (Spelling doesn't get easier eh?)

Ridiculously light built but has not bad skills from what i see at training, i wouldn't be surprised if he was around the 70kg mark. Hard to see him break into the midfield or play in the forward line with Milne and Schneider.

Chance: 5%

Not much from the Saints, but what about your club?

This is why you downgrade in the midfield and upgrade in other positions. Heaps better choice of rookies.

Might look to downgrade Warren to Ballantyne and upgrade Muston when he's peaked. Those few extra G's Warren would have earned without getting injured may cost me getting Corey instead I'll probably have to look at MMurphy/Thompson/Stanton.

I'm planning to keep Mitch Brown and Suban all year. Learned last year that rookies who are guaranteed 22 games but only average 50-60 are worth far more as bench cover than they are as cash cows.

Tyrone Vickery is set to play his first game this week..
he's priced at around 122k iirc as he was a first round pick... might be a little too expensive to be a good cash cow, similar price to sidebottom...

Vickery has been named to play for those that want to take the risk, with Jade the coach for now and Richmond not having a forward line, wouldn't surprise me if he played out the rest of the season.

Didn't Micheal Walters play his first game for Freo on the weekend? As far as I can tell he's likely to keep his spot. Should average pretty well, so he'd be a good cash cow but probably doesn't have the job security to be a solid bench option for the rest of the year.

Hamole, do you think Callum Wilson will get a game soon? I know he is a rookie.
I would seriously doubt it, he's well down the KPF pecking order. He's got to compete with Kennedy, Lynch, Mitch Brown, Hunter and the resting rucks for a spot up forward. Furthermore, unless Luke Shuey has been put back on the long term injury list, we're only allowed to elevate one more rookie and I assume the club is planning to simply re-elevate Cockie. I hope so at least.

didn't he also come into the team because Ballantyne didn't come up..... im only guessing but if balla is fit i would say he would permanently have that small fwd role at freo ahead of walters....

Specially considering harvey keeps talking about balla having that x factor that freo are looking for so im hoping once he gets in his job security is solid.

He's more unlikley to keep his spot. Ballyntyne will be infront of him + mcpharlin, headland, johnson, grover. Wont keep his spot for very long imo:thumbsu:

I guess I'll probably go for some 75k hack so i can do my trade. There are really no standouts left anyhow, just those who may sneak a game or two when teams start tanking. I've got Ballantyne who's solid as cover anyway.
