A lot of 1950s players in that line-up, many of whom I never saw.

Some positional queries. I remember seeing Jeff Potter play a lot of his football in the back pocket. Back in the days before the out-of-bounds-on-the-full rule. He was good at kicking the ball out deliberately and getting away with it. And he was courage itself. Also I tend to think of Geof Motley as a half-back rather than a half-forward. But then I only saw his last three or four seasons.

That centre line is sensational!!!!!!!

I would have probably picked Ron Elleway at full back, but then, I was a 60s kid so I'd be a bit biased. I never saw Abley play.

And where is Bubbles????? How could you leave him out????!!??????

Still, I guess you can't include everyone ... and they were a mighty club in those days. I guess any team that can win 6-in-a-row would have to have been pretty strong. Hence the large number of 1950s players.

What about such intensely skilled and scupulously fair sportsmen like Sambo Salmon, Keith Spencer and Bob Clayton? And such superbly fit athletes as Yogi Bear Traynor and Reg Blowfly.

Only joking.

Dennis Errey, Bruce Nyland ... ah, shut up Alf ... stop boring everyone.

Maybe they should have named a seconds team as well.
