Decent half hour with MM, talking about our prospects fo rthe new season. Must have been recorded before the Fraser operation though, he only mentioned Richards re the ruck stocks.

Was interesting to see him talk about the 2002 GF team and says he has a picture kept of the starting 22's photo before the game.

Admits the team perhaps did not deserve to be there on talent alone, but the drive, will and determination of the team showed how far you can push yourself beyond talent.

Said that the team was really aided by the expirience and mental toughness of Freeborn, Steinfort, Betheras and McKee.

It's that mental toughness he says was missing last year and that is what he wants to get back, and that this is more of a concern or excuse than injury because, at the end of the day you have the same amount of players as the other team.

After watching that I'm ready of season 05!!!

I saw it too. If he was so impressed with those guys. Why did we get rid of steinfort and rupe in particular?
I like Mckee and freebs as well.

Not very valuable at all. He'd be a total waste of space. I'd rather have Fanning Walker Rocca C Cloke and T Cloke to choose from.

The only difference with stunner is he has heart.

You'd rather a guy who has never played a game of senior footy over a bloke that put his body on the line time and time again and never laid down.

Stunner wasn't super athletic, but he did create a contest every time and always brought the ball to ground for our ground level players to pick off. He didn't get many hit outs, but the opposition ruckman rarely got hitouts to advantage.

The new rules would suit him, as ruckmen are now being forced to stay on the ground.

Yes I watched it and thought it was interesting.

Not sure why he didn't mention Molloy. He was pretty good that year.

It would have been interesting to see who he is going to use in the ruck, but as you said, it was taped pre-Fraser's injury. He said Brayden Shaw was a chance too.

The 2002 Side was great, simply because we were a team, and not made up of individual superstars, except we worked as a team. Result was almost Grand Final success, and no All Australian jumpers, in the end - good news, rather than bad news.
