Terry Wallace and Wayne Schwass on Fox last night both tipped us to finish top three. Wayne tipped us to play Port Adelaide in the Grand Final. Terry picked Michael Gardiner for the Brownlow and Wayne tipped Phil for the Coleman. A very positive Victorian media report on us for a change!

And no talk of Juddy returning to Victoria!:)

It is good to see us getting these type of reports from the Vic media, but I've said a few times that I'm much more worried about where we finish on ladder after the H&A series. If we finished second and get bundled out in consecutive weeks it would be dissapointing but much more positive than if we fell away and finished 7th in the H&A but then improved in September and lost in the GF.

Hey Vicki, is that you starring in the latest Eagles magazine?

(The picture of a lady holding the Roo banner with "Love to Vicki" or words to that effect signed on it.)

One of the papers here said "Has any player ever been better than Judd at the age of 19?". Forget Reiwoldt, forget Pavlich and Wells, the Vic media are still creaming themselves over Judd. We're not out of the woods yet.

Also, same article said that a Vic club president was quoted as saying that his club would be willing to throw a $500,000 a year contract in Judds direction if it meant signing him.

Had me wondering too! Was Vicki the first BigFootier in the Eagle Eye?

The Age also has an article with Robert Walls and our good mate Dermott Brereton tipping us to finish 3rd with Rohan Connolly having us 5th.

Thats odd, I could have sworn those same luminaries had us finishing 12th and the end of this year.

Incidentally, if anyone is interested, the mid season GBU is almost done, (and its a mammoth), look for it about monday next week.

I notice the three ex spurts in the Sunday times have changed their tune as well. None of them had us in the eight, now they all have us top 3.

Hmmmm

Not me

No that wasn't me. The only Matera banner I have had anything to do with was the one my then ten year old son took to Waverley one day when we played Hawthorn. It was a piece of cardboard with "MATERA MAGIC" on it - and he was abused by a bunch of loser Hawk fans (adults) as we gave the Hawks a spanking!

You might have misunderstood what i was saying, but I actually am having the opposite look on this season. If we get bundled out of the finals in straight sets then so be it - we should be back again next year and we'll be better for the experience.

But if we take our foot of the pedal and sneak into the finals then we really haven't made that much improvement on last season, even if we fired in september and made the GF.

Thats true, if we sneak into the finals we're back to where we were last year.... top 4 however would show that we'd made significant improvement from last year

Good review actually.... saw it twice and was surprised with how highly the media is now rating us, of course that was bound to happen with us sitting second on the ladder :)
