FOX SPORTS vs C7

Is fox sports absolutely killing C7 at the moment or what,

FOX has now exclusive rights to NRL

Theyll propably get the AFL

they also have English Prem League, NBL, 500cc and superbikes, NFL, NBA, Australian tours overseas (cricket) and more

they also have one of the leading sport sites in australia with foxpsorts.com.au

Now, C7, has Sheffield Shield-wow!
national soccer league-(i love soccer but this would not pull in much audience)

and............. nothing else much major

I say c7 is heading down, and there will be no competiton for fox sports, which may be bad as their program quality may go down....

Why was Foxtel's NRL rights win a surprise?

Fox owns 50% of the NRL, they were hardly going to agree to sell the rights to another channel.

As for the AFL - I predict that on Monday the AFL will announce that the Nine/Ten/Foxtel bid will be announced or leaked the interim winner and Seven having the last right bid will match the Free-To-Air offer and Seven will end up with the FTA rights, Fox Sports the PTV rights and Telstra the Internet rights when all is said and done.

as far as the afl rights pay tv,internet and fta goes
ch7 will get fta and pay tv rights they have no choice in the matter for the same reason suvival.

Foxtel WILL get the Pay TV rights, that is the one thing we can all be sure about.

The C7 sports channels are dead in the water (lost all Thugby to Fox Sports what else is left?) and when Fox Sports gets the AFL rights it will probably as rumoured morph into a general entertainment channel showing old 7 shows and maybe the odd sports event like NSL at the weekends.

Foxtel now has everything and it wont be long till we can watch Yank Cable over here in Aus!

The business types in suits say Seven would be financially irresponsible and would destory the network if they matched Nines bid. Is Kerry Stokes another Skase?
