The AFL today announced the Grand Final of the 2012 FOXTEL Cup would be played between Claremont and Werribee at Patersons Stadium in WA on Thursday August 2, at 7.35pm local time.

The match will be broadcast live and exclusively on FOX FOOTY from 9:30pm EST.

I find the start time very strange seeing as though the game will be quite late on TV in the eastern states.
When I first read the time I thought it was eastern standard, 5:35 local time would make a lot more sense!!

Teams announced, I think Norf reserves will win this one.
I saw Blackwell got suspended in the WAFL on the weekend - does that put him out for this game? I don't see him listed.
Due to him being suspended, didn't think there would be any reason for him not to play.

Yes, Luke Blackwell's suspension means he is un available for selection.

A pretty even first half before Claremont kicked away in the 3rd to win easily. Tom Lee with 6 goals. Interesting to see if tonight gets him a second chance at AFL level which is one of the main purposes of the Foxtel Cup.

Congrats to Claremont. Deserving champions.
