Sooo ****ing pissed off that they god rid of MTV Classic for the shitty MTV Dance channel.

I've had Foxtel for a couple of years now. I use it mainly for sports, especially the footy season. I also use it for the NFL because games are usually on while I'm either asleep at 5 in the morning or at work so that's a bonus.

I also usually crank MAX, my music tastes have grown because I just whack that channel on and hear old artists that I never really heard before so that's a plus. Also I get to watch my wrestling.
 
I have IQ and it is brilliant.

I can watch heaps of channels, and IQ records them, without having to find a tape for them.

Also, you can set it to tape a whole series, so no more forgetting to tape your favourite show, it does it for you.

Also, I subscribe to main event, so that I can order WWE PPVs each month.

Rebranding i'd assume
Make people think they are getting more than they are getting, when in reality all you have done is change the logo and give it a new name
Marketing 101

I do believe that a few of the programs from TV1 will be changing though, enough to justify a channel name change apparently

A bit of a waste of money to change logos etc, when you are not changing programming.

I just hope they don't use this as an excuse to charge me more on Foxtel.

I love being able to get on my phone when I'm not at home to record something to IQ. Ideally though, it would all be in the cloud and I should be able to watch a recorded show on an iPad when I'm waiting at an airport in America, or on a laptop when I have a sleeper catching a train across Europe.
 
Does the T box record? I had telstra here last week oh coarse i forget to ask if the T thingy records.We were thinking of getting rid of the normal foxtel box and just use the Tbox.If it does not record will have to keep the fox box.

The 'new' TV1 will be owned and operated by Foxtel. The current one is not.

this. Also am sick of Foxtel re-branding channels and classifying them as new!! Another example of this is when they changed the 'Hallmark' channel to 'Universal' channel. Same thing is 'W' channel was changed to SOHO! The sad thing about this is that a lot of people would think that they're new channels when in reality they're the same channels but with different names. It sickening how they're advertising TVH!TS as a new channel!

The rebranding of TV1 was a completely pointless exercise in my opinion. They're not fooling anyone in proclaiming ‘It's New!’. It might be marketing 101, but the consumer isn't that dumb.

I don't have a problem with them re-branding TV1 since it's understandable since they want to own channels on their platform! The problem like you said is how they're trying to proclaim it as a 'new' channel. Foxtel has really gone downhill the last few years!! They really need to add some new channels and soon!!!
 
What I would really like to see is Sky Sports News on the Fox Sports News channel between 12-6AM! Similar to how they switch from Sky News Australia to Sky News UK after midnight. :D
 
Of course the League Cup was on Setanta.

Was hoping to watch/record Man Utd v Sunderland this morning which went to extra time and penalties.

I want Setanta to **** off. Have subscribed to them in the past, but I will never again!! Horrible picture quality and horrible audio quality as well. Not to mention the countless amounts of replays throughout the week instead of live content. I hope Fox Sports,ESPN and SBS get as much football rights as they can off Setanta.

Actually it only shows 11 different shows on rotation.

It only shows Friends, Seinfeld, That 70's Show, How I Met Your Mother, All the CSIs and NCIS, and NCIS L.A., and pretty much nothing else.

They have even got rid of the "Groovy Movie". So, now where do we watch the 80's and John Hughes films?

Tomorrow Melburnians will have to Retune their television sets as the final part of the switch to Digital television.

Ive been a subscriber since Late 2001, and only been with out it when moving into my apartment for about 1 week till i got it set up. i have 2 HD boxes and 1 SD which all get filled up when i go on holidays and miss AFL or other sports and the shows i watch.

Dad's had Foxtel since the very early days (1996) - when it was 25 channels (or an extra 4-5 channels for $10) and the EPG was an actual channel!

We originally had the next model down box from the one with the LED channel display (think it was the STU100). It was pretty primitive. When that went on the blink we had the one aussiedude mentioned for a few months (the STU200 from memory). We then had to move into a satellite area, so we had the giant box (the STU700 from memory - a similar model to one of the original satellite digital boxes), which did have an EPG and radio stations.

Amazing how television (and Foxtel) has evolved from those early days, where you'd be glued for hours on a variety of different shows and sports was an afterthought to today where if it wasn't for sport there'd be no need for Foxtel.
 
Anyone seen the girl doing the sports news lately? Looks like she has a mo.

She clearly doesn't have a mo, I'm guessing botox on her upper lip causing a crease or a shadow.
