Or buy a media player for $50. I don't think many people who d/l torrents watch the shows on computer screens. Live sport and helping support rupert are the only real reasons for foxtel

My WD media player's pretty old now but still plays everything. Got a newer Phillips one too which isn't so good.

I need to work out how to move on from media players and wires now. Just want my next tv to download/stream torrents direct somehow.

If your WD has wifi, download a program called "Serviio" or "Plex Media Player"
Install it on your PC/Mac,
Tell it where all your stuff is located
Turn on the media player (will have a section for a media server)
Enjoy all your content on the TV

I had Plex, but found I couldnt get decent quality on my Panasonic TV, so switched to Serviio
But i've been told if Plex works fine for you, its brilliant

hmm.. i decided to cancel my foxtel saying it wasn't worth the money as i only have the basic and sport package + HD which i pay $85 a month

so they offerd me it for $37 a month for 3 months no contract without HD which i accepted. Still not sure about it as its cash down the drain still. I dont watch anything besides the sports channels and the AFL doesnt really interest me

Ill be playing that card this week. Similar package but i got it for 6 months and thats coming to an end soon so going to call up and if they extend it for another 12 months ill keep it. If not it goes.

Does anyone have multi room with the Standard/Base box for $15 a month? If so, I believe the standard box does not have HDMI out. What is the picture quality like and is the picture letter boxed at all ?

I know alot of people download but sometimes i don't feel like finding decent torrents and huddling around a computer to watch something.

Torrents + Itunes on the pc/Mac + apple tv ($99) and everything streams like a dream, access to your complete TV/Movie library

Probably going to do the same thing in 2016.

T-Box is on its last legs with Telstra winding back support...the lag time, occasional buffering and reliance on internet make Sport a bit of an 'ify' when games are on that you are desperate to watch.

My plan is to look or wait for their next round of special offers. They are cyclical...probably due for a new year special where they waver the box/connection fees etcetctec.

Or when the Footy is about to start.

Still think paying for HD AND ADS is b.s.

Bought Foxtel only for the HD Sport, can watch SD Sport anymore - first world problems . If you are not into sports its a massive waste of money IMO. Then again if you are into the other shows its worth its value.
Those looking to save I'm not sure when the best time is to get it? Maybe now in the off season of AFL you may score a good deal after that you would have to wait during the year?
