Foxtel in principle is great. I have Platinum with the IQ. I have a number of shows series linked and record others while browsing through the guide. As a result we rarely watch anything live as we always have hours of viewing pre-recorded and can skip through ads etc.

That said at $115/mo it is grossly overpriced especially when you compare to foreign services with 5x the channels at less than 1/2 the price.

I have Austar, all channels except Setanta (although, for some reason they mistakenly gave me access for a week last week), No MyStar (IQ).

Wouldnt be able to live without it. Theres always something on thats worth watching.

Lol LC.

I meant electricty socket, not power plug btw.

Now seriously, do I need free sockets or does it plug into my T.V or something or do they bring walljacks or w/e?

its just like a normal foxtel box...... yes it does need a power socket....

Also - the techs don't supply double adapters, powerboards or anything of the like. They'll give you AV cables, but that's about as far as their generosity goes.

I have basic + sport, but quite frequently somehow get access to The Comedy Channel for days at a time. Its so ****in weird.

Why not? I like it.

Beats the new Simpsons which is basically what they run now. And Family Guy is just annoying at times.

Simpsons is alright and easy to watch.

Agree that some Family Guy eps are annoying (the one where they moved to Texas was horrid), but on the flipside, a lot are brilliant. Watching Stewie belt the shit out of Brian never gets old. Nor does the idiot "he he he he" laugh.

Never gave KOTH much of a chance. Don't like the visual style at all, nor the dull accents.

Lifestyle and How To channels are my favorites, for their real estate programs e.g. Grand Designs, RelocationRelocation, Escape to the Country etc..

Also liking new BBC Knowlege channel for its historical docos....then there's the racing channels...ah bliss!:D....would be lost without Foxtel..

Now, just bring on the footy:thumbsu:

p.s............Peter Everitts (Yes, saint, swan player) travel doco starts on thurs nite on How To channel

I reckon it is intentional.

They give you a taste and then take it away hoping it will encourage to increase your subscription to get it back.

Ok they installed it today BUT..... I still have Ten HD when I use my TV remote.. what's up with that

yeah, if you've plugged in your normal arial into you tv , when u switch it off TV/AV (or "source") you can get all your normal channels without going through foxtel. alot of people do this

Also, in reference to the people getting random channels.
I used to be able to get random box office movies free for about a week. was really really weird. I do not have a phone line in the room which has the foxtel so i have to ring up whenever i want to watch a movie and cannot order through my TV so i couldnt have accidentally ordered anything...
