One more thing: I checked the guide and FoxSports HD is showing lots of Soccer... Does the HD channel show games live when Fox1/2/3 doesn't?? (If you understand what I meant)

Look in the EPG on the weekend. Live games have "Live" in the title.

when foxtel HD have sports on that are different to what is on fox 1,2 or 3, then it is probs a repeat. they wouldnt pay for the rights to just give it access to a very small portion of foxtel buyers.

I got my Foxtel installed today and today they changed from free first month platinum package to free 12 months IQ. Which one will I be getting and how can I find out?

If it's already installed and they didn't install an iQ box, then I think it's safe to say you won't be getting 12 months free iQ.
 
They did install an IQ box but I also asked for one when I rang up. I rang up just then to ask and they said 1 month free platinum, free 12 months IQ and 12 month contract, I thought I get one or the other? Could they be lieing?

PS: Do Foxtel send invoices to my e-mail address? I'll find out if I'm getting charged for IQ, if so, I'll call up and tell them that it was free.

You do realise you can just call up Foxtel and ask some nice Indian lady all the questions you have. Its called taking initiative. 131 999
 
Is it worth getting the S-Video cable from Foxtel? Does it give much better quality then the one that comes with IQ?

while on foxtel is anyone EPG running really slow?

mine seems slower since the start of the month and its bugging me

They say the installation fee is free, unless the require and electrician to come out if required.

Anyone have any idea whether you would know if your ready or would need work done ?

Yes it's shitting me. You try and scroll ahead to see what's on other channels and all it comes up with is listing information not available. you have to go forward and then back a couple of times to get it.

if you go to the sports selector channel, then jump back to something else it sometimes fixes this. no idea how or why, it just does (sometimes).

our foxtel is in the missus name and our contract is up. we wanted to upgrade to iq and they want to charge us an installation fee. we asked if they could waive it since we have been loyal (lol) customers for a few years and they refused.

well, i phoned them yesterday and told them we want it disconnected (in the gfs name) and a new connection in my name. no worries they say. now i get free installation of iq and free iq. good work foxtel!

They are normally really good with their times. Every date and time frame they have given me has been spot on:thumbsu:

Everyone that has Foxtel and thinks it's shit try going without it for a week and then you notice that you really do like it. My parents have recently gotten rid of theirs and it's quite annoying going back home especially when there is some good sport on the weekends.

We've been with Foxtel for more than 10 years now and were one of the first to get digital when that came out. Before I moved out of home and into my own place I told them I wanted foxtel there and the home account changed into my mums name.
They said you can't do that and told me I'll have to close this account, send the boxes back and start up 2 accounts. I told them that it won't happen like that because of how long we've been with Foxtel and have never missed a single bill and want a chop out.

In the end I asked to speak to someone higher up, got put through to someone and I told them what I wanted and if it doesn't happen I'll close the account and just download everything.
They gave me the account swap over for free & the new account set up for free and it was done 2 days after I moved in.

You've got to stand your ground with them.

Depends whereabouts you are.

If it's an area serviced by a contracting company like TOLL, they have set bargaining agreements that allows them the option of going off site if the weather goes over (I think) 28, or if it's considered dangerous (high winds, rain, etc.) and still get paid for it, which can make life a bit difficult.

If it's an area serviced by an independent contractor (I'm assuming you're from WA so most of it is), then they're usually fairly tough old bastards who do it no matter what as they want the money.

Having said that, it's a busy time of year as per the special offer. They just don't have the time to say "Nah, CBF'd". They'll be there I'd expect.
