The announcement that Eddie McGuire is going to be 'the face of AFL on Foxtel' will probably eliminate any lingering temptation.

Thats the cost of Foxtel now being able to air every game live against the gate. Their `exclusive' games featuring Port/Freo are no longer the main selling point, now they want to be as Eastern States as they can.

Of course, any organisation that figured Brian Taylor was the best choice for Sunday twilight games involving large numbers of teams he could name maybe 6 players a side for, probably wasn't all that committed to non-Victorian clubs anyway. Thats the price you pay when a company is managed between Sydney & Melbourne and therefore thinks its national.

Yeah Foxtel is very Eastern states centric particularly Sydney and for all the money that they pay it is kind of patronising to the AFL when on FSN when they have football stories they'll throw to the Fox Sport studios in Melbourne. And the amount of coverage they give NSW in the cricket and even the Sydney team in the A-League is pretty funny. But I think Foxtel is worth the money, I watch most other non-Port matches in the AFL, watch the footy shows duting the week and cricket whenever it is on so I find it pretty good.

If you don't live in SA and want to watch Port Adelaide you HAVE to have Foxtel. I've had Foxtel/Austar for as long as I can remember and wouldn't be without it.

Darts
Sky Racing
TVN Racing
Tosh.O
Deadliest Catch
Heaps of movie channels
Some absolutely horrid music channels.

and the missus watches Australia's Next Top Model (yes I've been known to sneek a peek) and a whole heap of other shit that defies logic from an intelligent woman.

I only really watch the news at 6pm on fta tv. Maybe Australian Story or 4 Corners if it interests me on a particular night.

See there's your problem. Women and logic should never be used together in a sentence. ;)

Foxtel plus torrents is the way to go. Not a big sports fan outside of footy, so foxtel more for the other channels (though not the chick ones!). Barely watch FTA these days. And not feeling the loss.

I was away one weekend and she watched a 12 hour footballers wives marathon (had a hangover apparently...). I saw 5 minutes of it once and wanted to neck myself. I'm not sure how otherwise intelligent people can watch that shit and any other shit like it.

But yeah fta can gtfo.

Hopefully they include what they had a couple of years ago with the multi angle and multi audio games.

I always loved being able to choose crowd only.

FWIW - I have become a FOXer over FTA - but they are both so repetitive.
