Lance Franklin will miss this week's game against Freo, While it is never good to see anyone have mental health issues will help our chances without him this week for sure...

Good for the Dockers chances, but, worried about Franklin. Must be pretty damn serious. Hopefully he can pull it together and get back in a better space soon.

Get well Buddy - Was looking forward to your clash with Luke, they are always a highlight

Big for the game but terrible to see mental health issues. My brother in law has one and life is tough for people in this position.

Speedy recovery to the big fella

Seems like the ongoing back issue was a symptom of something bigger, sad to see a champion like him struggle with this, just goes to show noone is immune

It is purely rumour ... But I heard he was having issues at the Hawks back in 2013.
... Sad, you don't want to see anyone go through it ... hopefully the big fella gets better soon.

Thats a real shame I hope he gets better soon and has all the help and support network he needs in dealing with this.

Very sad news for Buddy, hope he manages to recover and get back on track. It must be pretty serious given the club have come out and said 'it's serious'.

If he was going to miss this game I would MUCH prefer he was missing with a 1 or 2 week injury.

Never, EVER like to see the best players unavailable to play. Where's the satisfaction in our team not competing and winning against the best players? However, we did beat the Swans with Buddy in their lineup earlier this year and I'd rate us as favorites even with him. But on the more serious issue, gotta wish Buddy the best and that he's able to make a full recovery. Can't even imagine the pain and strife of a "mental" issue. If anything, hopefully the "mental issue" stigma will greatly diminish in the general public if a high-profile elite athlete makes his issue publicly known. Good on Buddy for having the courage to let the world know.

We need to be carefull with this one - they have been winning matches without him last few weeks - makes them less predictable?

Agreed. I wonder how it changes the potential match ups for our back 6.

Irrespective of all that, mental illness is very tough to beat and one can only wish him well.
