Quarters said on channel 10 that he had done ligaments in his ankle, if so he is more than likely gonna miss 6 weeks. Devastating news if it his ligaments. I did mine 5 weeks ago playing basketball and i'm still about 2 weeks from running on it. That's with physio twice a week and hydrotherapy. Franklin will be getting physio every day so he should heal quicker.

Channel 10 aren't always right but because Quarters is a diehard supporter of the Hawks i doubt he would air it if it wasn't correct.

Let's hope Boyle can step up.

^dam i was more hoping on a 1 to 2 week sprain. I really hope its not a 6 week injury. Looks like boyle at CHF, or even Roughead getting a run up there leaving willow one out up forward

Apparently severe enough to immediately have it scanned for fear of a break.

http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=253480

A severely sprained ankle could keep him sidelined for 4-6 weeks, so let's hope it really is much worse than feared and one game is all he misses.

And while I'm linking the afl.com.au website, I'd like to b i t c h about the Hawks-Dockers game being the only match on page one at afl.com.au that did not have a preview posted on Tuesday. (As far as I know, it's still not posted there.)

Telstra - those p e n i s-brained knobs that run both the Hawks and the AFL's websites seem to delight in doing a poor job on anything Hawthorn-related. For example, last week the Hawks membership thermometer took a dip down to 11,000 for four or five days.

My suspicion is that one or two of those p e n i s-brained knobs went home from more than one or two finals in the 80s with tears in their eyes and a soiled nappie after the Hawks spanked their beloved heroes on the paddock at the MCG or Waverley. I suspect that the incompetence they show with anything Hawthorn on a Telstra-run website is the closest they can ever hope to getting even!

Or maybe I'm sitting in a dark room and listening to conspiracy theories echo thru my head from an invisible friend sitting across the room who also complains that I haven't bathed in 37 days.
No...I think it's really the p e n i s-brained knobs at Telstra this time!!!

You sir are an uninformed git. Telstra run and operate the evnironment and to my knowledge availability is high and performance is very good. Telstra DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT manage the content, that is up to other people.
Are you interviewing for a job on ACA?

When people at the club say they have no access to the content except thru Telstra; when club representatives claim they have asked to have the membership thermometer updated for two weeks before the Telstra employees get around to it; when a mistake on the home page takes a week to correct - then your "knowledge" is magpie-like and performance is not very good! And I wasn't criticising their cellular availability and performance atm.

Tough luck guys.

Buddy would have been a dangerous opponent, doubly as we have so many defenders out.

Whilst it boosts our chances, never like to see an injury.

Hope he is back on board soon.

Definately hurts us, but we shouldn't be relying on young players too much just yet, but I would have loved to see him, as I'm going to game on Sunday and haven't seen him in action as of yet.

Willo, Roughead, Dixon the targets, with Croad a chance to pinch hit if we are struggling across half forward. Boyle will play a little, but he didn't cope well with the size of the ground last time I saw him play.

I really dont want to see Croad upforward, I think he is too important to the backline as he should play on pavlich. I dont think anyone else at hawthorn is good enough to take out pav as good as croad would.
Agreed. The less we play Croad both ways the better.

Horrible news about buddy, especially as his confidence would have been great with 6.3 under his belt on the weekend.

Love to see boyle step up and take a few strong grabs, maybe along side roughie with williams leading out of the square.

AC said on SEN on thursday that if the injury had occured playing for Box Hill last saturday, he'd already be right to play, but as it was a midweek injry, he will just miss this week. He was confident that Buddy would be playing round 2. Believe what you will, but i dont think AC is likely to feed us BS for the hell of it.

Any news when John Barker will be back, I mean the truth, when are we definitely going to see him playing at AFL Level this season.

Also, where is Boyle? Simply overlooked for the match? Thought he did alright in the pre season matches, has potential, should be left in the side for a while I think.

Hopefully Buddy will be ready for next weeks clash.
