Has he shown he's over the inconsistency? Is he going to post some big scores this year?

Can upgrade hall to him for only 20k extra...

Football wise he's ridden himself of inconsistency. But he's just not an ideal supercoach player.

Franklin is avg. 6 clangers a game so far. This is being hidden by the fact that he is kicking big bags of goals. If the goals dry up his score will really be down due to the clanger count.

His clangers were huge last year also.

Tempting ... but a big risk.

Agreed with Choota in the sense that I think last week he bagged 5 goals and managed 80 odd or so (perhaps due to any clangers / FA?) so it is a bit early in the year to make a strong judgement if from a SC perspective he is consistent or not, i bought him in for Lucas when he went down and in hindsight RoK may have been the right choice but not too dissappointed with Franklin so far !

I've said to a few people that I don't think you can win Supercoach this year without Buddy and Jono Brown.

I know its a big call and isn't based on anything other than "one of those feelings"...

The other way of looking at it is that if he cleans up his clangers and maintains his goal kicking then his score will soar. I know that Buddy has a bad clanger record, but a lot of it is due to giving away careless free kicks and 50's and I reckon it's possible this could disappear from his game as he matures.

Its also from trying to kick a goal whenever he gets the ball, E.G he trys to run through 3 people and gets pinged, or kick gets smothered, marked in the square or goes out on the full from when he has a shot from the boundary line. Hes selfish, he will always be selfish, therefore the clangers will always be there.

You bastards that talked me out of him. Never trusting anyone here again!

LMFAO! :D

I traded johnson out for franklin this week and instant dividends! They even gave me two steamed dim sims with soi sauce thrown in to the deal as an apology for how crap johnson's been going for me. :p

as metioned above clangers hurt him, he is a good thing for DT not so SC.

I would have agreed with you prior to this season but even his clangers (23 after Rnd 4!) and FA he is racking up great numbers.

Rid himself of those indiscretions and this man will score 150 more often than not.

I got franklyn in for hall last week :)

Havening watched him a couple times a lot better use off the ball.... not as many clangers and to me that means his points are not only going to be more consistent but higher as well.!

is it just me who thinks that Franklin is better in SC

  1. Last week he score 50 more pts in it
  2. His averages in SC are higher (120.8 - 101.2) 20 pts
  3. In total pts he has 604 in SC and in DT 506
Finally as a marking style forwars, who bags often, he is surely a better SC pick, as for the incosistency i think its still there, but its just not as major, lyk most tall forwards. His bad weeks now in SC are around a 60-70 while his good weeks are over 100 always, sometimes 150+, with his bad games are begining to dry up
This man will kick around 100 goal so i say hes a must in ur Final SC/DT squad
But if ur unsure put him in SC if u have the $$, if u feel he is over-priced u can just be envious as he keep knockin up 100s

Franklin is the new improved version of Pavlich

Finally, i am a Hawthorn supporter and i feel that he is the player i know about the most in DT/SC as ive had him each of the last 3 yrs, and i know the frustration, but when i sit down on a sat/sun to watch him, he looks that player that the media were saying he wud be

In addition the poor form of the gun forwards recently makes Buddy even more appealing.

He is clanger king. He can also be inconsistent.

However he is the best available at the moment. 540k isn't cheap but it isn't expensive either.

One of my trades this week is Hill to Buddy.

Some stats

Clangers
Pav 10
Brown 14
Franklyn 27

Kicks
Pav 59
Brown 38
Franklyn 64

Hballs
Pav 22
Brown 23
Franklyn 17

So looking at that franklyn gets as many or more than pav and brown in possessions, kicks more shit ones however by 17

But on top of that has kicked more than 17 goals more than those players so evens out ;)
