What about if he hasn't decided yet? I know many people completely dismiss this as an option, but he's said all along that he'll wait until the end of the year to consider his options. What can he say other than what he is saying? I think the main issue is that we, as supporters, find this very frustrating, and some are turning on Buddy, but he is with in his rights to do so. And we're only guessing that it's about extracting the best financial deal - we've no idea if there are other factors at play.
*sigh* That's why I specifically prefaced the question with "Hypothetically, assume he is going..." lol

I'm actually in the camp (and have been from the start) that thinks he will stay. Though it's only a 60:40 proposition in my mind atm that he will.

At the expense of two future gun midfielders and maybe a more then just a serviceable ruck, which we're caredly in need off..
And I have to agree with the poster above, take marketing out of the picture, and you can clearly see that Roughead has become the most valuable, and arguably the most damaging player in the AFL...
which may or may not turn out to be duds and then people bag the recruitment staff ie dowler thorp etc etc etc no one knows what a recruit will actually turn out like till it happens and in my books no one should bag them that hey we could have had a duckwood but we got so and so instead !

Fair enough, I was more responding to the argument that he's being misleading/insincere etc and tacked it onto your post, so apologies

No news on Buddy.

Will check in again next week.

My only interest will be if Buddy does stay how the "we are better off without Buddy" brigade try to hide their excitement while doing cartwheels.
We are better off without him than paying overs. He still gets the $$$$ if hes finished after a year or so.

Disaster for us, but not for gws obvioulsly

Exactly!

I mean, Jason Dunstall stayed with us and was only getting $150* per week.
How bad is that?

*(May or may not be the correct figure - I just made it up)

Interesting comment from Leigh Montagna this morning on Game Day regarding Buddy.
From what he has heard,Buddy is going to stay.
I guess he is in that "Inner Sanctum" of players and may know more than what anyone of us would know. Make of it what you will...

Why are we vulnerable?

Did he give a reason?

Maybe he watched the past 2 weeks of both teams and made an unbiased assessment of where the sides are at. We have played A LOT better than what we are currently offering up and if there was a time for us to be vulnerable in an otherwise dominant season, on form this is it.

I doubt he'd be in any inner sanctum that is more inner sanctum than HFC and if Buddy's teammates don't know what he is doing I can't see how Leigh Montagna would. When people are asked if Buddy is staying or going they are usually telling us what they think not what they know.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz, so over it all......
