The funniest part was this - @AFL_PKeane: Media advisory: statement to be issued shortly to national media list by Liam Pickering, regarding unauthorised use of Lance Franklin account

Pickers must be feeling a little left out with the rest of today's news so probably hacked Buddy's account himself to get some attention.

I think there are more agreeing with my intuition than there were when I was very certain he was going, and I still do. Ablett was gone,Scully was gone Goddard was gone,,Franklin will be gone,he seems to be enjoying the media more than he ever has before. BINGO..GONE. No doubt in my mind ..
You also said you were done with this thread about two weeks ago....

So what was the breaking news? Seriously don't tell me it was his Instagram being hacked.
Given what has taken place today, this surely can't still be news... Hilarious.:D
The Breaking News was Instagram - nobody at C7 had ever heard of it before & they bloody love it. They reckon others should get on board - it might be a hit :thumbsu:

Hawthorn superstar Lance Franklin hacked on Instagram, declaring he is off to the GWS Giants

RELAX Hawthorn fan, Buddy Franklin's declaration he has decided to walk to Greater Western Sydney was just one giant hoax.
Franklin posted a photo of the GWS logo on Instagram last night with the caption: :My soon to be new home”, sending Hawthorn supporters into a spin on social media.
And to rub salt in, Buddy used the hashtags #moneyoverloyalty, #byealistair and #upthegiants as the photo attracted more than 1400 likes before it was deleted
The photo spread so rapidly that Stride Management was forced to issue a statement last night confirming Franklin had been hacked.
"This is an extremely disappointing situation and we will be investigating how this occurred and working to ensure this type of thing doesn't happen in the future,’’ Franklin’s manager Liam Pickering said.
"In the meantime please do not take any notice of what is posted until this is rectified.’’
Franklin, who last week reaffirmed he would not make a decision on his future until after the season, boasts 223,000 followers on Instagram.

The star forward is expected to return from hamstring tightness to face Collingwood on Friday night

The more Buddy gets the more Pickering gets, it's in Pickering's best interests for Buddy to secure the best financial deal possible.
Pickering is a "for life" manager - still manages quite a few ex-players on the speaking/media circuit. Franklin is worth a hell of a lot more post-career as a one-club superstar, than as someone who took the cash grab and disappeared into obscurity.

I must admit a little suspicion as to whether this was "allowed" to be hacked, in order to gauge the public reaction.
