Hmm, punches a child in the head and then appears to implore his supporters to 'get him'. Doesn't really seem like a proportionate or reasonable response. Clearly not self defence as the child was clearly not intending to do anything further.

Hard to see how he gets a fair trial, mind you. I'm sure the state of Victoria can work something out.

It is one of the hazards of politics, anyone that has ever been involved in campaigning knows there are people that will have a crack at you and they know its best not to respond. in 1993 John Hewson had eggs thrown at him and his actually caught one of the eggs.

Better angle. Kid took Fraser’s hit like a champ and threw in a little rib jab too before he was taken down by the campaigners
No second or two of internally thinking "What? Is this an egg? Did someone hit me with an egg??", just immediately turns around and starts attacking.

Might want to look at who was providing Anning's security.
If the police aren't charging the kid, it's likely Anning has suggested they don't. DPP and Vicpol often only proceed with less serious cases at the discretion of the alleged victim (a huge issue for combatting domestic violence).

Someone probably doesn't want to be in front of the courts.
