Just watching the highlights of the game, man Josh Fraser's goal was freakin' sweet. Tap along the ground, clean pick -up, 40m snap all in one motion. I don't think any other ruckman playing is capable of that.
Great finals player and last quarter player is Josh. Stay fit my man.

Oh, I thought he'd

* Lost it at training and punched someone for calling him a 'pea heart' or;
* Released a collingwood-endorsed range of after dinner biscuits that go down well with a bottle of fine port

...but yeah, that was a pretty special goal too :thumbsu: Did you see the wonderful photo in The Age gallery where there's a shot of Frase pumping his fists in happiness and in the foreground you see Nathan Basset shouting in despair...

Good call :thumbsu:

He cops alot of shit does our Josh, but he was magnificent on Saturday & responded to the honour of being Captain!

That was a brilliant goal & certainly got me off my seat :p

There is no doubt that when he is fit (which is rare, sadly), he is a GUN :D

Back it up this week Josh & we are well on the way to a win :)

Does it once every 5 or 6 weeks.

Its work rate we all want lifted every week. Like Lyon said of FC on sunday, every coach would love to coach a kid like Nick Maxwell because he gets everything out of his body.

is it just me or did he use to do that more often a few years back ? that was like his trademark almost.

whether it was a loose ball at about 30m out or from a ruck contest throw in, he would snap and kick an inspirational goal almost.

i wont deny ive bagged him in the past, i just hope he can get injury free for a year and really show everyone how good he can be.

Yeah back in 2002-2003 he use to be very good before his Injury but Injury has slowed him down

I think he hasn't done it as much cause he used to grab it out of the ruck from a boundry throw-in in the pocket and slam it on the boot for a goal, with the rule change its not worth the risk of grabbing it out of the ruck.
That, and also he looks like an old man now.

I've been critical of Josh but he is clearly still capable of producing quality football. Hopefully he plays a blinder on Saturday and tears the saints a new one.

best thing about that goal was the emotion afterwards

ive always questioned how badly he really wants it, so it was good to see how pumped he got
good game from a captain in a young inexperienced finals game
hopefully this gives him that spur he is sometimes missing
really led from the front:thumbsu:
if he can somehow grow into the player we all know he is capable of being it will really put us in good stead in the next few years for a few genuine cracks at a flag, as it will help cover our midfield deficiency whilst also turning a weakness (ruck divison) into a strength...remember we havent had a dominant ruckmen in a looooooooooong time

Exactly. It was unsually demonstrative for such a laconic lad. I think it was his way of saying that he is a leader and that he really wanted the win. More of the same on Saturday would be very handy.

No idea what to make of Fraser and his form but he is definitely not up for trade as others have flagged as he is still our best option in the ruck. If only he could get himself 100% and consistent.

I think we need to put a big pre-season into Wood and throw him into the 1st ruck next year with Fraser helping out - about 30-35% ruck time I reckon.

It would be nice to see some more of that emotion from him too! Now that we know it is there anyway.....
