6 to 8 weeks was always a worst case scenario. More likely 4 to 6 weeks.

With Josh's resilience, i would be surprised if it was much more than a 4 week injury.

Then again, Didak's was a 4 week injury 6 weeks ago and he's still not close to being fit. There can be complications.

MM last night on the Fox Footy special also said Gy Richards is a chance for round one.

That would be good new if he can and Flaps and him can hold down the ruck for a few weeks so Josh is ready to roll in about rd 3-4

Balmy was definitely playing funny buggers with the media. Historically, cartilage clean-outs have been 3-4 week injuries of even quicker. I don't believe it will be 6-8 weeks. They're just trying to shake a bit of the pressure of expectation down there.

cartilage can be one week jobby but with no games etc 3=4 is better due to conservative nature, however should complications arise....... didak

I had a similar surgery a couple of years back and within 2 weeks I wasn't even limping any more, by 3 I was as good as new. With Collingwood's rehab facilities, Josh'll be on the park by round 3 at the latest.

Essendon are saying Solomon will be available for Rd 1 after having surgery for a similar injury 2/3 weeks ago. It was funny how easily the media swallowed Balmey's 6-8 weeks line - I suppose a bad news Pies story overrides any objectivity or accuracy.
