See what the off season does to you... (sorry i couldnt shrink these things down... I tried.)

alright i give up didak wine...the best i can get is "nice bing irish" or "biscuit bite me obscure man playing sport"

Sydney have expressed reluctance to trade Jolly in the absence of a very enticing offer. Why? He's obviously a good ruckman, but also, Sydney unlike eg. Brisbane with Cam Wood do not have much backup stocks.

Rumours flying everywhere including that Hawks may offer pick 9 to fill their ruck problems. But that would still leave Sydney thin in the ruck compartment.

On the other hand, Fraser + 14 may be enough IMO, and if needs a fringe player like Stanley or Cook. Collingwood's trading history with Sydney should also stand us in good stead, they owe us for Rhyce Shaw :p

lol @ this thread!

What will the Jolly trade mean for him?

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet but Josh became a dad today! A boy named Ted. :)

Pies Get Jolly, Fraser Could Be Bait

There are still Hawthorn, Richmond and Port Adelaide supposedly keen on a ruckman. Jamar stayed at Melbourne which decreases the liquidity in ruckmen in trade week. Seaby, Mumford and Jolly appear to be spoken for...

Well, its looking most likely that Fraser will not be at the pies next year. I think he's had his chances and its possibly time to move on. Jolly and Woods will be the ruck team for 2010.

I think Jolly would be a great help for Woods at training and preseason. Alot to learn of a good ruckman.

Fraser?? Is anyone going to want him?? Given his injuries. Honestly, what can we get for him?

We have shopped him around and there is no interest at all.

And why should there be?

Imagine walking into a car dealership and the dealer says "this car... man she was a beaut when I got her... parts are hard to get these days tho and the engine needs some working on. It'll take 12 months for those parts to arrive and be installed... but after that, she'll be as good as new... So? What are you trading in for her?"

What's his kid going to call his teddy then? Chris Bryan?

I dunno, everyone's been banging on about Jollywood... I still reckon rotating Fraser/Jolly and resting Josh at CHF would still be a handy combo (considering Trav would be leading down to the half-back flank :p)

I dont know why everyone wants to ship out fraser. Granted Wood showed a lot this year and is obviously a great long-term option but a high half forward option of fraser (also back-up ruck duties) would be better for the team. If we traded for Jolly who is oldish and are going hard to grab some ball then we are obviously in premiership mode. In '02 a kid fraser kicked 37 goals playing this role and really hasn't done it since. We lost that year because our number 1 (McKee) was a shit kicker and we got killed in the ruck. A man fraser playing that role with Jolly the number 1 man would be the most potent ruck and backup ruck/forward combo in the competition. Wood will get his chance.

I would not trade fraser in a straight swap for ball and i would not trade davis simply with the thought of nabbing ball. They are both better players than ball and IMO with our list as it is, they are both required players. I would love to get ball because he is a required 'type' of player but only if the price is right because he couldn't even get a game for much of this year. A second round pick is adequate, maybe a second rounder + cook (MaCaffer at worst if we're desperate). People are going on about having perspective and that Burgoyne who is a genuine star being a first rounder + a player. Have some perspective on Ball, he is only a decent player but i'd love to have him because we lack his type.

Conclusion, keep fraser, keep davis and try to get ball for the right price..If we can't, we move on.
