Just one out of leftfield

While it is obvious he is not quite up to it as an AFL coach, he is apparently well respected in Victoria for his work developing younger players.

He definitely has a good natured attitude, a lot of integrity and seems like he could inspire some loyalty.

Probably out of the head coach job after this weekend too!

Not as silly a suggestion as some might think.

Caroline Wilson wrote in today's Age "One of his strengths at Richmond has been his development work with the younger players at the club."

I also agree with your description of his personal qualities.

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it as long as he had nothing to do with the day to day coaching.

Though I do wonder about these comments of his role in youth development.

Kayne Pettifer, Aaron Fiora, Andrew Krakouer, David Rodan etc don't seem to have come along as you'd probably like.

Only really successful youngster I can think of is Coughlan.

I think you have answered your own question given the Tigers have struggled to develop their young talent.

Agree with WW - go after Jonas, who does have a proven record with youngsters.

:) A south australian boy who knows the difficulties of youngsters in the fishbowl environment of South Aust.
This is a key area in the development/non development of our players.

How many interstate recruits have come to AFC to have big heads with all the attention.
Has definately destroyed careers and curtailed others.
