Spencer is a hack. Sellar is a hack. Pedersen is a hack.
Fitzpatrick is more of a forward, and is pressing for a spot at the moment. Would have had Hannath if your mob didn't beat us to him.

An experienced mid is more of a priority.

Agree with all this... on a related note, neither Thomas nor Dal Santo are real leadership types with the ability to drag blokes along in their wake in the right direction like Joel Selwood or J Brown could do. As someone posted a few days back, they're the icing, not the cake. That said, if as you say we get a senior inside mid as well, why not have a crack?

Also re: Clark, I know we recruited him as a tall forward but would we not all be frothing at having him playing ruck with the ability to go forward and be a genuine target? Providing we had a midfield to get it down there... oh lord.

Yeah that's the problem with these type of players, they are the heart and soul of their clubs (N Jones style) and won't come to a basketcase like us in a month of Sundays.

Cross would certainly be an option - kicking isn't amazing so he would be an upgrade on McKenzie, but that's probably worth it at the end of the day. Tuck may be lured by the promise of not being close to being dropped every other week haha.

He's not smart but I reckon he'll be looking for the big money anyway.

If Mark McVeigh can get a gig in the media, you wouldn't bet against Sylvia turning up there either. In a few years we'll probably have the pleasure of viewing games commentated by Eddie Betts, Nick Maxwell and Barry Hall with assistance from the dulthet toneth of Thtephen Milne on the boundary.

We still need blokes who can kick it to them though
And blokes who can create a goal if it hits the deck .. We have neither

For the next 3 years we should concentrate on only midfielders with a 3rd rounder on maybe a back men

Yep, but his manager and the club are currently in talks to extend him out until 2015.

I think we would all be with you on that one, but we need to lure someone who can play and we aren't all that attractive at the moment. If there isn't someone with talent willing to come, then we sit on the money a bit and wait for the right players over the next 2-3 years.

No the club doesn't have a good look about it at all. Money speaks though. Not sure Carlton were all that attractive in 2007, didn't stop them from getting Judd.

True, there is form there in terms of money getting the players, but we are at a stage where we need to recruit well. Mistakes will be very costly.

I still think we should make our first rounder available for a high end midfielder if it's available. Someone around the 22-25 mark. We have enough kids and can get a few midfielders with the next picks, but we need some serious help. I don't think we can afford to wait around for those mids to improve and, if it's there, we should chase a midfielder.

Anyone in mind? I can't think of a quality midfielder in that age bracket who would want to leave his club for ours, or a club that would be willing to trade. Joel Selwood, Marc Murphy, Dayne Beams, Dangerfield, Martin, Cotchin, etc would be nice but there's buckleys we'd get them even if they were available.
