I think your being harsh on him there. Anything under 10 metres, and he hits a target most of the time. 6/10 easily. When he has to kick long, say 12m plus, only then does his efficiency suffer
He kicks so bad it looks like he's directly passing to the opposition most the time!

I'm surprised he doesnt run of onto the opposition bench for a rest most the time lol!

What? Don't get me wrong Jones is a very good player. But Danger has that X factor and speed. We need that more.

I know but we have Freeman who is pretty similar and Jones is more consistent.

The only downside with getting Danger is hes going to comand a lot of money. It's all well and good to be saying "lets throw the sink at Danger", lets not forget our Captain is going to need an adequate offer from us if we don't want him to be walking away to another club that says "lets throw the sink at pendles" in 2016 when he is a FA. For example, someone like Melbourne who would have more than enough dollars, and Pendles has openly said how big a fan of Melbourne he was growing up. Just an example, could really use any club.

Yea and considering the club were saying we barely had room to fit varcoe in the cap I doubt we are going to have a spare million per season to throw at someone like that. Unless we look like serious contenders and can bring him across on the cheap for hopes of winning a flag it's just not going to happen. When freeman gets going we won't need him anyway.

Pendlebury would not leave Collingwood and no one in their right mind would go to Melbourne. Danger will be on big money but so is Swan who is done sone so was Beams and Daisy we have the money to pay him and then have room left over

Why would Pendlebury not leave Collingwood if someone was offering him 300-400k more a year?

Because he will not get that offer, we have enough money to match what he is being offered also he will go on the the Veterans list in 2016 meaning he can get 150-200k out side the cap and he would not get that elsewhere

Very sure if he returns to Victoria he will take the money

He'll certainly be very well reimbursed I'm sure but there are other clubs capable of providing that $$ and the chance to move back home where he has very strong family ties.

He is going to be what an hour away better than being in SA Geelong need to focus on keeping the Hawk before they even consider Danger

By 2017 when Pendlebury's current contract expires the TPP will be around $11 million and ASA possibly around 750k. The below article also suggests 40-50% of each clubs TPP are allocated to 10 players per club.

There is a problem having two million dollar per year players in your squad unless of course you have a very young team with older players retiring or just retired, which is our situation.

Reid is locked in until the end of 2018, Cloke until the end of 2017, Pendlebury until the end of 2017, Sidebottom until the end of 2016. I'd suggest Cloke and Pendlebury would be on around 800k and Reid and Sidebottom certainly less. I think the length of Reid's contract allayed some cost.

The rest of the team really are not at that level. We have young talent but by the time they can command such wages the above will be retired or on reduced contracts, except probably Pendles. I can see us having the money to spend maybe 900k average a year for an established player on a decent length contract or a million a year for 3 years.

Perhaps the money has been already allocated to future planning and we are sticking to our financial model to be in contention for players like Danger and still holding onto Pendles, sidey and co?
