Definitely not saying that it cost Adelaide the game as Adelaide were awful after quarter time, but the lopsided nature of the Victorian teams winning the free kick count almost every single time is becoming a joke. It is one of the many advantages of getting to play the Grand Final in your home state (often home ground) no matter what.

In the most important game of the year, too often a match has started in an unfair position because the team that actually should have the home ground advantage is actually playing at their oppositions home ground.
yep

the interesting frees, especially early in a game can effect momentum and confidence

Nope, USED to love the Swans and their fans. Thought they were a great club with humble and good to talk to fans. But since the Grand Final they have become the most bitter, bitchy and deluded fans on here. Swipe at any Bulldogs fan they can. Seem to think they were the best team last year and the Grand Final should have been theirs rightfully. Despite the Bulldogs playing better for most of the game, the Bulldogs own wastefulness inside 50 kept the score close

Getting tired of defending our worth last season. We would 100% be inside the top four this year and many years with last years win loss ratio, beat EVERY TEAM but Geelong, and won seven games interstate was it? You will rarely find a Premier with that kind of stat line. We were very good, without being great

Unfortunately every single premier people try and find a way to shit on their success. People stupidly believe their is legit bias and attempts to help certain teams and other stupid conspiracy theory BS

Swans and Eagle fans are the biggest hypocrites, regularly on top of the free kicks for ladder year in and year out. So let them bitch and make excuses all the want. Without COLA, their academies which they stack players not even from the zones originally (at one getting top ranked players despite making finals before rules were changed), and bending as much loopholes as they can, Swans wouldn't be anywhere near a good team. Want to bitch about assistance, they need to look no further than themselves

Get over it, you legit lost the Grand Final to a better team on the day. No need to flood every forum whining about the same stuff over a year on
_M_16_, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Trouble is fans non vic teams expect every games umpiring to be as biased to them as when playing at home

Vic teams fans not so much
I certainly don't expect (nor get) that at the SCG.

However, there always seems to be bias against the non-Victorian side in the most important match of the year.

It's got to the stage now where we should acknowledge that its the AFL - GF played in the city that has the team that earned it. Will take a lot of unscrambling for the VFL, but it will happen in time.
This will never happen. The corporate interest in the AFL will ensure that. At best, the venue will rotate between states but the venue will be determined years in advance like the Superbowl.

I'm an interstate nutter, and I'm meh about the OP. It isn't blatant, hardly worthy of a thread.

Townsend and Betts early on were the bad ones, but Adelaide doing stuff all would have been a major factor in not getting frees.

Swans never did that.
