I signed up to a freeroll now and can see that Jay1972 will be on the same table
You guys have got nothing! ;)

I'm creaming everyone in this freeroll. Got AA, smooth called....three hearts on the flop (K Q J) i had the A of hearts, so i had the nut flush draw, royal flush draw etc, etc. Turn came eight of hearts, so i made my flush....but was only one card away from a royal! Unfortunately, the river came the five of hearts :( i was soooooo close!

Absolute poker isn't bad if you want a freeroll with slower raises in the blinds. 54 players remain coming 2nd how will come undone I wonder?

I take it all back this is an absolute slog. Still 23 players left 18 getting paid. going for 3 hours 40 mins im tired.
If you want to make the final table on an AP freeroll, it takes AT LEAST four and a half hours...usually five or more. My best finish in an AP Freeroll is Fourth....i got so unlucky in that one!

Did you win that one which we both made the final table?

no. i came second. i copped two horrible suckouts.

he goes all in - trying to steal my blind, catches me with KK. he gets two pair on the river.

did that again when i went all in (i had less chips than him because of the earlier suck out) with QQ.

Annoying. But my eight thousand haul on the ring games made up for it :D im currently sitting in second place amongst my team - we have prizes for the top ten, if i hold my position at the moment, i'll make an extra thousand chips :D

im getting to like Bugsy's. They have a series of freeroll qualification event to the WSOP. You have to get through a Round One, Round Two, Round Three and elite final to get a seat, but im doing alright, i already have two round two qualifications, and the round two event is tonight.

I like the idea of a WSOP seat without having to pay a cent :D

Played a freeroll a few days ago at Ultimate Bet - it was my first big tournament for a while, due to lack of time, but I thought I'd give a crack.

I sat through the first blind level, consistantly being dealt trash hands like 3-7 and 5-9 etc. Going into the second level, I didn't find much else, but decided to raise with J-10 late, three or four times the BB. I was called by the small blind. Flop came 2, x ,10. I bet the pot, aiming to take down the pot right then and there with the tens. The bet alone would have been worth a third of his stack. He called, however, and a four hit the turn.

The SB pushed. I knew I was probably beat here, but the immediate all-in had me thinking something wasn't quite right. I knew I wasn't up against hands like A-10, K-10 or Q-10, as I would have been raised on the flop (most people with a higher kicker and top pair raise on the flop in fear of someone hitting an overcard).

So I called - I mean, I had to make a move sometime - and the SB flipped over 2-4o. 2-4 freaking offsuit.

My stack was cut in half, and the blinds chipped me down a bit, so I pushed with a A-9s and hit two spades on the flop, but nothing else.

You are too much of a pro to play online. You always think the oppositions are 'pros' they do not play like you and re-raise when having A-K.

IMO, you lose because you are too good and the crappy players are getting luck when they shouldn't be even seeing the flop

I hear ya Sante. There is heaps of good poker theory and advice out there, but if you paly freerolls don't apply any theory to what your opponent might have. Anyone that has played a few has lost to a guy who bets big all the way through a hand with nothing only to fluke a hand on the river. I also had a guy call my all in late in a freeroll yesterday with 2 5???????? (he made a straight!) My advice for what it's worth is take notes often and cross your fingers or play for bigger stakes. Good luck out there everyone, we all need it!

You're right, but of course, but it's hard to know the bad players from the serious players at the table unless you've seen them make foolish moves beforehand. In the example, this is practically the first time I had seen this guy bet, so in not knowing how he plays, I must assume that he's playing seriously.

It would be foolish of me to just assume every time that someone is playing with bad cards - that's an easy way to find myself in a lot of trouble up against big hands.

Yeah, I don't play freerolls very often at all. I mainly stick to micro limits online when I can be bothered being focused enough to gamble online. I don't get to the casino too much due to lack of time, but hopefully I'll be there a fair bit over the summer. Losing like this online does nothing but diminish my confidence.

Just to let all of you guys know I'm starting an aussie podcast about poker. It's called the http://www.aussiepokerpod.com, if you have any feed back either email me or pm me.
Great idea, I look forward to checking it out.
