OK my question remains how come you've decided to identify a poster because of his style but 'I'll smash your head in with a brick.' is OK'
What if the posters who have contacted you complaining are way off track?
It appears we are heading toward a monkey's fist end.

That's not ok and it should've been moderated differently...


Given my experience on this board over the last few years, I'm taking their concerns seriously.

The board isn't divided, you just keep stirring and ranting, which detracts from your many excellent posts.

No-one appointed you a senior poster, and you have no knowledge of the many complaints that many of us have had about your posting, abuse and vindictiveness.

What is it that you want?

Clearly, you will continue to personally abuse and vindictively crucify Seppo until he is either replaced or you are banned.

Similarly, you won't ever be happy until a whole string of posters you don't like are banned and banished.

I don't understand why you have to be so personally abusive and hateful towards people you don't agree with.

I would like to declare my support for both Lach72 and Seppo as moderators of this board. In my experience they have always been open to approach and fair handed and if we lost either one this board would be devalued.

If we had a few more moderators, however, some of the angst could be jumped on early. Is it possible to make the OP moderator of their own thread?

You now have all the attention you have been seeking, and have had the chance to have your say on behalf of all of the many, many posters who have contacted you.

So, I say again, what is it that you want???

Clearly you won't be happy until Seppo is gone as admin, and until one of your endorsed/accepted persons is in as a moderator. Your posts and comments elsewhere clearly state that you want a number of other posters to have action taken against them or stop posting ("walk away").

Feel free to rebut this by clearly stating what it is that you are seeking, how you will tolerate many different views and levels of logic in posting on this magic new board, and what steps need to be taken to achieve this board nirvana that you supposedly seek.

You might also like to identify how and when you will contribute the hours of time to help this new magic system run smoothly...

This is an interesting concept in theory, especially because in some uni/academic contexts it works well with boards with smaller numbers of posters.

When we tried it on our multi user public forum, all it led to was a preponderance of new threads, because everyone wanted to control the discussion on a particular topic. We had 87 threads on the one topic, all being modded by the OP, rather than a single cohesive approach to modding a particular issue or topic.

It also meant that on each sub board several thousand posters adopted their own individual approaches to interpreting the site rules and board standards, which quickly led to even more fragmentation and variation in the application of behavioural standards.

Finally, many of the objections didn't come from people who were the OP, so giving the OP mod powers actually didn't let the complaints come to the surface for discussion - posters still had to go to board mods with complaints, as the OP was often offline or ignored the complaint. Which feeds my view that there is no easy techo answer, and also that modding is greatly underestimated and underappreciated...

Have never experienced anything other than condescending comments from Lach, even though I've always enjoyed his training and game reports. I got fed up with the direction the forum was going in and cancelled my account after being a member for 6 years. Back for now but things have not changed at all.

BPG, respect and like you as a person and a poster, but there are plenty of people that could moderate equally as well. You seem to bear a grudge with Sliced these days and that has become obvious in your posts. I personally cringe at times when I see him call someone an idiot, most notable coulda and any of the training guys, because I have a lot of respect for them, and I think that could have been moderated better. However I think he is still one of the most astute and intelligent posters on our board, much like yourself.

If the moderation prevented this tit for tat mob mentality where everyone has to go and choose a side, I would have no problem with the way things are run. Don't mind who is doing this moderation job so long as it's less about flexing power and more about treating people with respect.

Moo, Ripper and Sabre were all excellent moderators. To suggest that nobody else could or would do a good job in this voluntary roll is simply not true. If I had to suggest a couple, maybe Salim or Reg could do an excellent and impartial job.

True that, he does pick targets. But I think he bats for the players more than most, simply because he's on. I don't like to see any player subject to abuse on here, and if it comes from him, I'll be quick to pull him up in future.

The forum has changed because of a number of reasons, including the popularity of the club. There are more younger posters on now, and that can be frustrating at times because they share their opinions based on very limited experience and get sensitive when challenged. Moderate how he challenges them by all means, but not the fact that he does.
