As long as Serong is genuinely ok with it, I'm all for it being just Andy as well. Bleeds purple.

That post game interview is exactly why Andy should be captain, and the shot of him reving the crowd up as he came off the ground. Just inspirational stuff from a great leader.

Does anyone else like the idea of Caleb and Andy as co captains?
I probably lean towards Caleb if I had to choose between both, but it works for other clubs, although hasn’t been something Freo have traditionally done as it’s been a vote.

Personally don't like it although as you say it has worked for other clubs.

I like the idea of a single captain, single vice and then the leadership group. Caleb and Andy being joint vice captains seems to have worked so maybe they would work as joint captains.

If I had to choose one I'd pick Andy. Both great players and club ambassadors, but Caleb seems to struggle and sometimes loses his cool under tight attention.

Part of my thinking with Caleb is that as captain I could see it actually helping him handle tags/attention, but as most people would think here, both are excellent candidates, and I’d be very happy with either.

The co-captain route has become a bit more common in recent times, but I’m not sure it’s something Freo do, based on our voting system.

I, like many people, have always been against co-captains.
Serong and Brayshaw sorely test that resistance for me though, I'd be able to embrace it since they're both so good and have pretty clear strong leadership credentials.

I see it as a two horse race.

Caleb brings leadership, humility, ambition, and football nous to the team. He is an excellent communicator and is at ease in front of the media. He is an extremely personable man and there is not a trace of arrogance in him. There is no doubt in my mind that Caleb is the driving force behind the players’ motivation to win Premierships.

Andy brings leadership, ambition and football nous to the team. He is also an excellent communicator and is at ease in front of the media. He is less personable than Caleb with fans and he does have a level of arrogance, but not to the extent that it is an issue or perceived as a fault. Andy is also highly motivated to win Premierships.

With so little difference between Andy and Caleb, I think the decision the players will make will be based on which one has the better rapport with them, and which one best represents what they as the playing group stand for at Fremantle Football Club.

It’s the one time ever I’d be happy with co-captains.

Usually this happens because a young up and comer needs assistance but this time around, these two are literally out and out leaders. Can’t split them.

Why can’t we have both?

I’m an AP fan and would love him to continue but I feel he needs more time to focus on his body now and we also need a leader(s) who can be consistently out there more often

Yeah like get in the gym Alex and get those chicken legs right. Heavy weights builds bone strength. His legs are as skinny as the day he walked into the club.
