We couldn't stop them getting their hands on the ball.

We gave away almost 50% more free kicks than they did.

We dominated clearances and broke even on inside fifties but the 60 disposal discrepancy is indicative of a side who turned it over at half back all day.

Smashed in contested possessions.

We got beaten at the loose ball, gave it back all day, couldn't take a mark inside fifty.

we really let an opportunity slip today, it seems the squad is playing as individuals instead of a team, Neale refusing to pass a shot at goal off and nobody getting around banfield is very disappointing. Our disposals going inside 50 are woeful, nobody leads at all, they stand still and wait for the inevitable long bomb that eventually leads to a turn over. Ross Lyons forward line coach’s need to seriously rework the game plan. Our forward line should never only have matera or Ballantyne down forward, If the team was properly coached we would be a very dangerous side to play.

Lost the possession count by 63

18 tackles inside 50 for GWS
4 for us
53 inside 50’s to GWS
56 to us
12 marks inside 50 to GWS
5 to us.

Ball movement, basic skills, winning more ball, and forward structure.

Meek should play, Taberner plonked permanent deep, and we must play deeper to raise the pressure

Even for all our fumbles and silly mistakes we were right in it until three minutes into the last quarter. Those first two goals showed what could have been if we took our chances but three more minutes later and we’d butchered two others and let them wrest the run of play from us.

Was a very winnable game, both teams were crap, the simple fact that they have good forwards killed us

Walters and Matera dropping regulation chest marks from the few passes that hit targets was not...helpful

I’m still convinced ballentyne can’t play AFL footy, games gone past him IMO, especially with matera in the side now
