Does anyone know how starling (i think it is) went in the wafl this season, seem to remember him being quite good in our intraclub match, maybe even leading goal kicker? any chance we will draft him?

Not eligible for this draft. Will be drafted 1, 2 or 3 by GC in 2010.

I think he is referring to Simon Starling from Claremont born in 1989 and therefore eligible for this draft:

He didn't set the world on fire this season.

James Thomson (194cms, 21 yrs - Claremont) and Simon White (192cms, 21 yrs - Subiaco) both had good years and I'd be happy to see either drafted late in 2009 National draft:

Hi, just joined. 1st post.
OK i have a trade idea. laugh if you want, but here goes:
Markus Drum Freo to Hawks, Brett Peake Freo to Bombers, Travis Tuck Hawks to Bombers, Scott Gumbleton Bombers to Freo.
my reasoning, Bombers will lose Lovett so will like Peake's run & carry (needs consistency but a new club might just do it). They also need a big bodied midfielder to help out Jobe Watson & feed the pill out 2 their fleet of runners. Gumbleton looks good but they have lots of big fellas. they won't all fit into 1 team
Hawks need a solid backman & i think Drum shows signs of becoming a James Clement type backman. Tuck was used sparingly this year (perhaps injured I don't know, but Sewell, Hodge & even Lewis have the big bodies which can work in the midfield)
Freo, Peake & Drum out of favour, both want 2 leave. Have both shown glimpses of form, but probably need a new environment. Gumbleton is a WA boy & maybe a change of state will provide him with a change of luck injury wise. Freo really could do with a big forward to support Pavlich and Chris Mayne who reminds me of Brad Johnson with his energy.
ok bring it on. haha

Gumbleton is a required player at Essendon that is worth more to them than to anyone else.

He is also very very injury prone and with his latest back injured I wouldn't go near him. I expect his hammy will go once or twice in 2010 because of his latest surgery. He could also go onto play good injury-free football but the risk is to high and Essendon wouldn't trade him anyway.

I agree we need to trade off Drum and Peake for whatever we can get.

So what do we think of our new recruits? personally im really excited about joel houghton and jesse chrichton, and obviously morabito

Yeah really fond of Crichton already, seems like a Harvs player.

Obviously excited about Morabito, Fyfe, Houghton and looking forward to seeing how Roberton can do in the WAFL.

Interesting times ahead. Absolutely no one rates us... Should be a interesting season ahead for Freo'... If we can get a few early wins for once, it would be a nice change...
