Yep mundy still has a fair bit of hype around him from melbourne commentators/journos so since he really isnt delivering enough he would be a good trade option for picks not sooks that want to come home.

But our best bet is to once again delist hacks an use all the draft picks we got.
1st pick best midfielder available.
After that we need to be chasing bigger bodied players with chance to become KPP's
then a few more midfield/wing types.

No more small back pockets who might be able to go into midfield or small fwd pockets who might be able to go midfield.
Preferrably good sized midfielders that can go back or forward but wont be too undersized

Gee that would be a tough call. I guess it's whomever the recruiting team rates higher. I'm a big fan of the three WA boys and Morabito in particular, but Freo have some pressing need for KPP at the moment.

I guess it comes down to how many real quality KPP's there are in the draft.

Thats my point - If I had the choice between the three WA players or a KPP out of Panos/Fitzpatrick I think 80% I would have to go with one of the WA players. IMO we need to take the best available KP player we can with our first pick, so maybe we should be trading down our first pick and adding another pick around the end of the 1st round / start of the 2nd round so that we pick Panos/Fitzpatrick/Griffiths and a good midfielder, or trading up to a better pick (1 or 2) so that we can give ourselves the best chance of getting Butcher.

yes we certainly need more big bodies up in the forward line and in the middle to protect our young brigade. i think that it may be time to look overseas for a player or two, a big hardened athlete who will give us a BIG target up forward and straighten us up... i nominate THE BIG SHOW

Yea he's good Lach72 seen him play down back and foward in colts better down back though.

He's 193cm's with a very long wingspan and a great leap.

Would be a great pick for you guy's as a rookie.

Without being able to trade future picks and/or make trades during the draft it's far too risky. You could potentially miss out on getting any of the players you want if even 1 club doesn't do what you expect.

If we get a priority pick I'd trade Mundy and our second rounder for a late first round pick - though it's highly unlikely anyone would go for it. Mundy straight up for a second round pick is a possibility. That doesn't really help our KP stocks though.

Our best option is really just to play it safe; Just take the best available with our first pick and hope a guy like Panos slides to our second pick/PP.

Would you guys consider trading Tarrant for Hawks' second round pick (likely to be early 20s). He's pushing 30 and won't be around when you become a serious contender again.

No... But you can have ALL of the Following for ure 2nd pick:

Head
Campbell
Murphy
Ruck Hart

Assuming Tarrant was happy with it, I would do that trade. If we are trying to build through the draft and getting rid of lots of players it would be better to get as many picks within the first two rounds.

I agree completely.

I wonder if Thorton would have any value?

No.

Guys like Peake and Drum should have some value. While Campbell and Murphy could have the slightest hint of value, purely due to their size and that KPP's will be valuable when the GC comes in, but realistically any value would be negligible. Crowley and Mundy would have some pretty good value, but I doubt either will be traded.

As for Tarrant, I daresay he would retire before being traded. I can't imagine him being interested in starting again at another club.

i dont understand why you guys would want the dockers to trade anyone?
the reason why they are always at the bottom coz we trade away decent players and get basically nothing in return and they ended up being good at another club.

No trading is whats needed, murphy will probably leave so maybe try get a third rounder for him, drum will get delisted (elevate de boer or broughton permanently) and maybe a few others but trying to trade good players like johnson and ibbotson for a higher pick is silly.

draft picks: i would think they will get a pick 3-5 considering sandi and pav are most probably coming back we should win at least one more game or two so with that pick i think we need a fast midfield and Kane Lucas provides that.

id also say well have a pp and a 2nd rounder one of those needs to be a key forward/defender and if talia from vic metro or someone like that could slide to our pp he would be a good fit.

there isnt a lot of talent late in the draft tho i see Travis Colyer from claremont being one who could slide to freos 3rd rounder and his speed and skills tho being small i could defintely see him as a star of the future.

anyone have any thoughts?

I would be amazed if Colyer was there at our 3rd round selection....great if he was. Only downside is size: 175cm? but is lightening with good skills.
