The Mariners have decided to name their Best and Fairest Trophy in honour of the 2005 Test Premiership captain, BBGun. BB has had a patchy playing career in the BFFC League, although his captaincy last year season was one of the main factors that led to the Mariners Test Premiership win in their first season.

More details to follow.....

I am honoured and feel privileged to have this medal associated with my name.
I think i am a big chance to win my own medal. Lately, I have been bowling really well in the nets.

Test #1 = Waspy 5, Myself 4, Rozza 3, Double A 2, Rob 1.

Posting will come more into my rekoning when it is not so close to Christmas.

is the BBGun a combined, or seperate....
if seperate. Cameronk 5, Waspy 4, blanket over the rest.

jars you are meant to have a vote I think. we all vote, and Waspy will sort into an actual top 5 based n how everyone votes.

This is how the voting will work:

*Each player sends their votes for each match to me via PM. This way there will be some suspense when the winner is announced. Also, it's easier to keep track of it this way.

*Votes for each match will be 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, with 5 being for the best player.

*As stated above, the amount and quality of posting in that match thread can also be considered when giving votes.

*funky did his votes correctly, don't bother giving BBGun Medal votes, as this will be a combined award just like the Allan Border Medal. It might also be weighted somewhat.

*Try to send the votes in this format in the PM to me:
Title: Votes: Test/OD, Round Number (if multiple matches, seperate with a comma)
Main text: Test/OD, Round Number: PlayerA 5, Player B 4, etc.

For example- If sending me votes for Test match Round 2 and One-Dayer Round 3.
The title for the PM would be...... Votes:Test #2, OD #3
Then in the message, for example...... Test #2: funkyfreo 5, cameronk 4, BBGun 3, DoubleA 2, Jars458 1
OD #3: ThePope 5, Rob 4, waspy 3, funkyfreo 2, BBGun 1

* The top three votegetters will then be awarded 3, 2 and 1 for each match and for the first few weeks I'll update the leaderboard in this thread.

* Try to vote each week, but if you can't, it's not a big issue.

I probably missed something, so please ask questions!

I think getting everyone to vote is a bit of overkill, and difficult to compile. Just have the capt and vice-captain vote and that will do.
Plus I will always just give myself 5 votes if it is private;)

I'd fully support a skip and VC vote. Except that i wouldn;t have given up the skippership as now I can;t just vote for myself:(

Good ideas here.....
Here's a possible solution: Cameronk and myself vote every week as captain and vice captain. Then, each month, two other players will vote after each game that month. At the end of the month, two new people can vote along with the captain and VC.

I was actually going to suggest having the same 2 people vote over the year and then changing the other 2 voters on an ongoing basis.

It is good to cameronk and waspy so enthusiastic.
A B&f will certainly generate interest.
However B&F may become hard work as the season wears on. My advice would be to keep it simple. You are enthusiastic now, but in 6 months, contributing to B&F votes twice a week might become hard work.

I am all for the B&F voting, and it is great to see the captains put in so much effort, but remember it is a long a season. There are going to be times during the year that you struggle to find the time to post the team on time, let alone run a B&F vote count.

I agree. What about a different person doing the voting each week.

We can then let people know when its their turn so they are sure to put the votes in and there will be a good spread of voting

If the nonminatd person doesn't do the voting then its up to the captain.

A convention should be that you don't vote for yourself. Always poor form.

I only gave myself votes because it would have been criminal not to;)

But seriously, my assumption was that only about 30% of team would bother voting. so if you don't give yourself votes if you deserve them then the people who got them insterad prolly won;t have botherd voting so you end up getting none.

I favour The skip and VC voting every week to be honest. Cameronk and Waspy are fair. Would soon pick up if the other is self promoting;)

As you can see, I'm awarding votes for the top 5 votegetters in each game. Because Cameron and myself are voting, sometimes there will be a tie, in which case the votes are split.

Good stuff, seems a simple way of doing it but will certainly be a sought after prize to win the b&f in one of the better teams in the competition.

Sheesh its a bowlers market allright:)
It's about time we got the reward we deserve!

I think with the new averages there will be more outstanding bowling efforts so I expect a few bowlers to be up there.
