No confidence at all.
I'll repeat, he has lost pace, and with it confidence, and continues to try and play a receiver gamestyle.
Most times in taking the ball, he didn't use pace to break away from his opponent, he either handballed or short passed from a standing start.

McLeod is lame. If you were at the game you would have clearly seen him behind the play struggling to walk. It got worse as the game progressed, most likely as the pain killers wore off. It is very difficult to play well when in real pain, and I think it can be done for short periods (ie. some notable GF performances of the past), but is not sustainable.

If he is fit then I'm A Dutchman.

The club is in an awkward position as we desperately need a win, so we play him. It is a long season and we need a fit and firing McCleod. I think we have to let him get over whatever injuries he is carrying.

All the Freo supporters I was sitting with saw McLeod struggling. I know most people who post here would only have seen the game on TV which is misleading as the cameras, of course, follow the ball. At the game it was clear he is injured and in some pain.

There is a big difference between struggling with injury and being disinterested.

If you haven't confidence in your body, your confidence to play the way Macleod plays is very difficult. particularly as well as having to cope with a tagger.

I think thats a very good comment. Lets run through the list:

Carey - contesting well but shanking kicks and has to battle with notoriously bad delivery

M. Stevens - out injured with Chronic knee injury and might never play again.

Perrie - badly out of form

S. Stevens - like a bloody yo yo. Not really a KPP YET.

Hentschel - playing well in defence but lost when in forward line.

McGregor - played out of position and crap at it.

Bassett - got into some form today

Krueger - seriously injured back.

Watts - out with injury, the dreaded OP

Rutten - just back from injury and will need at least a couple of weeks to regain fitness and form

Bock- not really a KPP yet and is struggling.

Overall a very bare cupboard. We would have a few more options if we didn't have so many injuries (or players coming back from injuries) as far as KPP are concerned.
CHF appears our key problem at the moment.

Would disagree that Perrie is "badly out of form" as he was played out of position in a FP for 1st game for only a short period of time. Last time he played CHF for the Crows he was BOG against Port (albeit a practice game). We must persist with Sarge & give him confidence, as IMO he is our best option.

Gather the Hound must have played a good 1st half, but unless I was missing something, his 2nd half was atrocious! He had 3 goals kicked on him before being moved off TLo. Was them moved on to Medhurst, who should have kicked another 3 goals on him, had he had any confidence in his goal-kicking.

Wouldn't say Sarge is out of form, had a good game against Port, then an ordinary opener. Good chance to cement his position in the side.

Whoever said Basset had a good game, was watching a different game. Took a couple of good marks, but was beaten (as last week) consistently, and continues to fall off his feet
He's not giving us any attacking drive from defence, and if he was in form, probably would have been given a stint in the forawrd lines.
