Really glad the replay has been cut to just after the final siren on 7+ so I can't watch roaming Brian

The average winning margin in 2005 was 34 points. So far this year it's 31. So it's worth about the same as the equivalent win that year.Yeah I read the thread title too. Did you watch the game? Or am I meant to be wowed by a 41pt margin like it's still 2005?
We won against a younger, injury ravaged team because our midfield stars smoked a plodder midfield led by a debutant ruckman and our fwdline were matched up on a WAFL-tier backline. Our ball use was dreadful, especially into the fwd 50, and we allowed easy mark after easy mark in our D50. it was an agricultural performance that will be found wanting against better teams. It was an opportunity to add much needed % and we didn't take it.

Because we know that the performance against Essendon with half their team out was substandard. This performance won’t win a final and speaks to 25% of our players not up to standard.5 wins in a row and a comfortable win at home and it seems we are unhappy?
I don't get it.
These are the types of games we have lost regularly over JLs span as coach and even earlier in the season.Because we know that the performance against Essendon with half their team out was substandard. This performance won’t win a final and speaks to 25% of our players not up to standard.
The unforced errors was huge and against a better team they would have created a new one.
If the boys haven't had this week circled since that last performance, what hope do we have? I have no concerns on losing this game because we have them comfortably covered for talent and any remotely competitive player is going to want to make a statement this game.I watched the game with a bombers friend and we both said it looked like a game between two sides coming off a five day break. Our problem is that we don’t have a baseline for how we play and the last game becomes the baseline. I hope we can reset because the Saints have already jumped us this year when we didn’t show up.
I tell you what the commentators on fox can go get ****ed.
They were shit all night and absolutely cucked themselves when Vossy kicked his beastmode goal.

The problem with that is using a single game for motivation when the standard for every game should be competing to the best of our ability. Even with a five day break to consider I don’t know that we’re at that level. The way we beat the suns should be the standard, but after the games with North and the Bombers I have concerns. If the boys haven't had this week circled since that last performance, what hope do we have? Thats fair, but every team has ups and downs (ie Geelong this week). If I was trying to be more specific, I have zero concerns on THIS game and Im happy to carry the potential from Suns and GWS forward and hope they bring that out against Swans then Hawks if that makes sense. The problem with that is using a single game for motivation when the standard for every game should be competing to the best of our ability. But yes, all JL has to do next week is put on a movie night and show them the last game against the saints.
I honestly think Jacksons dominance is strangely costing him awards. Despite taking the piss in multiple games, he can't get 10 coaches votes to save himself because in dominating hes making everyone else look better.I had Serong BOG initially but I think it has to be Jackson on review. Even understanding his opponent was a debutant, he’s just so so good. Hit outs to advantage, ground ball skills, goals, just dominant.
It does but the cats, and lions, aren’t the standard bearers for me. They’ve been inconsistent all year. It’s the pies. They model the consistency that I’m looking for, for us, because we have an opportunity to entrench ourselves in the top four over the next three games and there is no wriggle room for flakinessThats fair, but every team has ups and downs (ie Geelong this week). You're hopes and dreams are greater than mine. Pies definitely who we want to be, just don't think we can get there this year. Give me a home final win at minimum. It does but the cats, and lions, aren’t the standard bearers for me. They’ve been inconsistent all year. It’s the pies. That would be minimum for me too. But we have the players to go deep, if we can keep them on the field. How far we go is all mental. You're hopes and dreams are greater than mine. Pies definitely who we want to be, just don't think we can get there this year. Give me a home final win at minimum.
What’s with the scheduling? A Thursday game then a Sunday game is so stupid… surely teams should cycle gradually through the play days to minimise short-break games and maximise product quality?I watched the game with a bombers friend and we both said it looked like a game between two sides coming off a five day break. Yes it’s silly, although at least it was fair with both teams coming off a five day breakWhat’s with the scheduling? A Thursday game then a Sunday game is so stupid… surely teams should cycle gradually through the play days to minimise short-break games and maximise product quality?
I think this is where the extra four years in average age (and maybe 50-70 games experience?) makes a huge difference. At their age, most Pies players should have reliable strategies for evening out their performances (i.e., high for most games), whereas we're still learning. We were the average youngest and least games experience for at least the first 10 rounds. It does but the cats, and lions, aren’t the standard bearers for me. They’ve been inconsistent all year. So obvious live at the stadium. So much this! And not just last night.
He's our best leading forward by a mile and the amount of times players are too slow or hesitant to hit him up does my head in (and no doubt Jye's too).
He's making the midfielders job easy, but they're making it hard for him.
The reality we have too many players who burn the ball.So obvious live at the stadium.
Large leads ignored. It’s so predictable sometimes how slow the players are to kick inside 50.
The kicks to Amiss either missed him by metres or were over his head. Would love for him to be treated like Josh Kennedy. Just feed him the ball.
