Well I will assume that Welsh is still injured (which unfortunately looks likely), but Carey & Roo are back for round #1. The matchups could be something like as follows:

FB: Jones Parker Hayden
FF: Bode, Carey, Burns

HB: Grover Polak Haddrill
HF Burton, Stevens, Edwards

C: Headland Cook McManus
C: Stenglein, Riccuito, Ladhams

HF: T. Longmuir Pavlich Carr
HB: Torney, McGregor, Smart

FF: Farmer Waterhouse Medhurst
FB: Johnc ock, Bassett, Hart

R: Simmonds Hasleby Bell
R: Clarke, Goodwin, McLeod

I: Woods, Haines, Walker, Sandilands
I: Biglands, Perrie, Bickley, Doughty

E: ?
E: Crowell, Gallagher, Reilly

Just quietly....I don't like the looks of this.

When is Carey actually going to play a game or he is going to come straight in without a game under his belt for a year and a half.

That's what I was thinking. Adelaide fans, do you think he will play?

I'm not an Adelaide fan but I did hear on channel 9 that he won't play for several weeks because he has a really bad back injury.

May need backup ruck? Sandilands? I hope McPharlin can play though.

Sandilands can sit at FF making contests , its very hard to match up on someone at 211cm

Ricky Mott can always be elevated from the rookie list at the drop of a hat ;)

I think before there is any thought of Mott being elevated, he will have to produce some good games for the Bullies.

Of the rookies, Colreavy may be next in line, but he also must produce for the Tigers first.

What about Webster? He showed a bit in the practise game (apparently - I couldn't make i to the game) and has always had big wraps on him since we drafted him. Great to see him playing well after a knee reco as well.

Gilmore is also a good pickup and Josh Head seems like just the kind of player we needed. He is extremely quick and has a raking left foot kick. He played well for South Freo last year, not sure why he wasn't played in the pre-season. Did he have an injury that I didnt know about? By the description I gave he is a similar player to Headland but pace in the midfield has certainly not been our strong point in recent years.

Reports today are that Carey is ready and raring to go.....this was backed up by the fact he did pretty much all of the Crows main training session today and looked good....he's quite keen to play in the Wizz Fizz GF but the coaching panel don't want to risk him.....I dare say he might play a bit for his local side the Roosters the next weekend and he'd be a definite starter for round 1.

AFC have decided not to waste him on the wizzer, so he won't be playing this week. Ant is on the money as I expect he will come through the Roosters to be ready for round 1 against you guys. He will be raring to go!

So in effect you are saying that you dont need him against the Pies but you will against the mighty dockers.

No what I'm saying is that the 4pts is more important than a wok!

True as that is.... But just cause he plays one game of AFL footy he wont pull up 2 weeks later??? Is he that fragile ???
