Have to give credit to the Dockers, we are definitely the better team in terms of talent, but the Dockers had a better gameplan for the conditions today, and executed it to perfection.

While I am annoyed about the loss, we'll be fine I think. GWS next week is almost a lock, so we should still be 6-6 going into the bye, and if we had of been offered that prior to the season, considering our early season draw, we would have taken it.

Still, very disappointing, was a great chance to go 6-5. I am making this thread in the hope that people can see some perspective here though, and not go completely nuts.

Our season is FAR from over and we will learn from this.

No ... Fremantle just came to play while our players couldnt match them. We knew what game play their were coming to play with, Hardwick should have set us up accordingly and our players should have used their ******* brain. That second quarter cost us the match.

We will smash GWS next week, this loss was a reality check that our players are still undersized against more mature teams, especially in wet weather.

Came to compliment Morris and Cotchin, but gotta say thats a weak op. The reason Richmond lost is because they didnt play the conditions and Pav mauled your fullback. Honestly watching the game I just kept thinking that sooner or later the Tiges will start moving it quickly and deep and their smalls with cause us mayhem, but just refused to. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season, I really like watching Richmond when they're going, good team to watch.

What really disappointed me about today was we didn't take any risks and have a real dip and went back into there shells with that old handball crap which is slowly creeping back into our game lately. I think today was a reality check. We don't have the body size to match it with mature sides and front and centre crumming is an area that needs a lot of work, we had nearly 20 i50 in the last quarter for 1.4, not good enough. Hate to say it but today's loss could be good as its really highlighted our deficiencies and will hopefully be rectified quickly

Bingo!, we all knew lyon was going use his slow it down flooding game that's what he does best,....Hardwick just presumed with all the hype the last few weeks we'd win easily...he was out coached today.

1 thing that annoy's me a little is some fans just want the opposing team to lay down and let us do what we want.all teams will try to exploit the strengths while limiting the oppositions strengths.its called competitive sport. this is what we got today and we didnt stand up. we are a young team with plenty learning to do. lets not get carried away.

Lyon revels in situations like today and eats inexperienced opposition for breakfast. The master party pooper.

Of course I'm serious lyon came here with his boring defensive gameplan and he out-coached hardwick with it.
but do you really believe hardwick would just say' look at all the hype this week we hardly have to turn up boys, another 4 point coming our way? imo thats garbage. were we out played yes. did we prepare for the game style of freo, of course we did but could'nt keep it up.

Our spread was limited today. We played Lyon's game and lost. I despise the ruck and maul, it's killing this game. Deledio was very quite today and some of our players made clangers with little pressure. We missed Foley in the clearances. I think next week we should rest Cotchin, Jack and Morris as they picked up injuries.

Hey Richmond faithful, it was a good game and Tigers had it in them to win but couldn't get it done that saying i'm stoked with the effort from my Dockers. Unlucky in the end for Tigers, but I'm happy with the 4 points in our pocket.
Freo over the years have lost a lot of games against teams who they think they should put away but don't (Especially in Melbopurne), Tiges have improved so much and are getting there, minor bumps like today best serve as a learning curve.

Oh and i am not labelling all Tiger supporters as filthy dogs but to those who celebrated Sandi's injury can go and F#ck off.

we've played well in the wet before, today, freo really exposed(conditions gave them enormous help) our high possie style and bought it undone...that said the difference came down to they had a WINNING forward whilst the best we could muster was a few opportunist goals from titch edwards. dissapointed we didnt really have a Plan B...oh well **** it, theres next week:confused:

Conditions, didn't help us, we used the conditions. Give us some credit.

Fremantle were the better user of the ball today, and combined with the weather which suited their lock-down style of play, they came out trumps. They clogged our forward line, which reminded me a lot of the Essendon game.

Are we going to go down the same roller coaster ride with Jack as we did with Richo? Last week he was awesome, he led, busted packs open and caused mayhem. Today he wrestled with a seasoned defender and played into their hands and we lost by 2 goals. Now if we go back over the season there is a common theme. I just want some consistency from Jack and the good Jack

In the first quarter when it was dry, we were playing our game style and our game plan. 9 goals in the first quarter and had that continued, we would have won.
Then the rain came and Lyon came into his element. Pressured the ball carrier and never allowed us space. We had no plan B when the rain came. Players such as Houli, who excels in the dry, became a liability in the wet.
I wonder if people hate Etihad now? This ground actually suits our game style more than the MCG.
Full credit to Fremantle.
A big fail to Richmond and our inability to adjust to the conditions and go to plan B.
There were a LOT of tired boys out there today. Last week took its toll. The bye can't come quick enough.

(I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but I have never seen umpiring as bad as that in my time on this planet)

Jack got an ankle injury in the first quarter and had to be carried from the ground. We were lucky he came back on at all.

Add to that the way Fremantle successfully clogged our forward line and denied Jack direct clear run at the ball.
