Fremantle Under Longmuir

Acres and Logue weren't significant departues but Lobb was a massive loss - kicked 36 goals and was their only reliable tall target. Now they have absolutely nothing up forward to kick to.

I still don't understand what they expected from Luke Jackson. He was never going to be a full forward and $1M for a backup ruckman is stupid. Plus all the draft capital they gave up for him.. soooo bad.

Fremantle list management is broken. They have a million decent young midfelders and very little else. Maybe hang on to your picks and develop someone over 190cm. Muppets.
None of them were superstars but all of them were good pieces in a quality young team who have now gone backwards due to the holes they left.

Luke Jackson is for the most part playing great footy he’s not going to be a bad trade. Logue and Acres are just OK. Losing Fyfe and Mundy over the last 18 months means we don’t have the big mids any more, need to sound out replacements.

Fyfe plays so little footy I thought he was an Eagles veteran.

You are paying superstar money and gave up a monster bounty for a role player.

It's the worst recent trade I can think of by FAR.

You've literally watched one game and made a terrible, terrible comment.

He was magnificent for the stretch from round 7-11 and arguably in the conversation as one of the top 5 player in the comp during this stretch.

Injured himself vs the Dons and has been holding on, unable to leap and play meaningful minutes in the ruck.

You make it sound likes he's been hopeless this year lol, do you watch Freo games? Many times this year he's been absolutely sensational.

Yeah maybe they gave up a lot, but it's hardly the worst trade by far.

The game on the weekend was terrible and Longmuir has some work to do but, Freo have the 4th youngest list and 3rd least experienced. dips in form are common for a team so young.

Finals are off the table now so Freo just needs to keep getting games in to the young guys.

Are you concerned about the list age and experience 8 years into a rebuild?

Top 5 player in the comp ???

Not really, I personally think we have the players we need, they just need experience.

The hogan trade set us back, but since JL took over as coach I am happy with the way the list is going.

During "that stretch" absolutely - bagging 3 a week as a Ruck/Mid, you'd be a moron the not recognise that as exceptional.
He averaged 17.4 touches, 1.4 goals and 9.8 hitouts a game during that stretch. Thats like a mediocre game from Tim English.

Top 5 player in the comp during that stretch is absolutely laughable.

Might have been Freo's best on a few games but players like Daicos, Bont, English, Rozee, Butters etc have triple the impact on a regular basis.

Mind you on close to a million a year too 🤣

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Yep and Aaron Hall was the best player in the comp every year on Gold Coast when he'd go berserk for 3 games in a row and then go back to rubbish for the rest of the year.

Sam Kerridge also kicked 7 goals from the midfield once. What a champion!

Do you see how stupid you look now?

Let this be a lesson to you, I am never wrong.

I was more surprised with Freo's massive overachievement last year.

12th-14th is where they are at. Miles off it. Gaping list holes and going nowhere fast.
So have they regressed or was 2022 a massive fluke

The alarming thing for me is Longmuir is 4 seasons in and the club is 8 seasons into a rebuild and they are still fielding some of the youngest lists

Would indicate some rebuild failures and selection mistakes from the Senior Coach

They traded their senior players in to get Jackson is the issue.

I think everyone is going a little early on the Freo flame here. They are a very young side and will be very good. Dips like this are the norm for young teams, especially when they overachieve the previous year.
