when the team deserves to cop it i am front and centre but today was a great effort and it showed their is something to work with, freo only won because of hard bodies like bell and mcmanus but they are a pretty shit side and will do nothing this year so amen to that

today felt like the eagles game when we saw bits and pieces but eventually threw it away, it will come with time though because we are just not strong enough and dont even understand what "team" means, when we get some talent that will be taken care of

get our ruck division soughted out which means not just waiting for simmo and knobel but actually drafting some quality long term prospects and also a few more inside midfielders and its not that far away

Was a very good effort considering we were only a very slim chance to run out the last quarter. Our best effort this season, along with our away game against Adelaide and the Eagles game.

As Richmond supporters, we're watching a 3yo horse with a massive upside run top quality seasoned performers to a half head week after week on their home track or one with no advantage to us - the Dome. Our midfield was extremely competitive away from home today with no advantages whatsoever. Missing all senior ruckmen, plus Coughlan.

Nothing spelled out where we're at more clearly than Edwards and Tambling punching well above their weight in the last with Tuck and White virtually unconscious in the middle of the ground while Freo skip away with the clearance - with Tuck wild eyed and scattered, back on the ground, fighting hard and spotting up teammates 3 mins later.

There was a huge amount to be taken out of this game.

Why do we flood and play tempo football? So what happened today doesn't happen every week - getting totally overrun by 7-8 goals in the last quarter. Today we mostly attacked hard all game (because there was a rest week not far away), and we paid the price at the end.

Take heart from the sort of truly brave effort that saw us dominate periods of the game, fight hard and only come up short because of a dire lack of hardened senior bodies - all away from home at a ground that has been a graveyard for Victorian teams, against a side with its season on the line. Only time, patience and games into young players can change our future - and it's a sure bet that it will change for the better. We are 100% on track with a nucleus of the right sort of players (still to be added to with new draftees and returning quality seniors) and the right coaching staff.

Wat is your problem with edwards?? He is 18 in his first season on AFL and contiunally takes players and the game on. He will be a great player in a few years when he builds up some strength.

Absolutely. A boy among men showing great promise. Give him 2-3 years to build strength and poise and he will be fantastic. Can't quite hold a tackle yet, can't yet use his speed to advantage, gets pushed off the ball easily, but never gives up and has a ton of raw talent.

A couple of pre-season's under his belt and he'll turn out to be a terrific mid-draft pickup.

Ah, you mean when he kicked 25m to our 'captain' - who didn't attack the ball hard enough, was overtaken by a Freo player moving at three times the speed, then ended up being spoiled?

Blame 'captain courageous' who can't lead to anywhere but a spot where he can pick up an easy possession, then can't win it because he's in cruise mode when the game is on the line.

Jackson did all that could be asked of him most of the game - 7/10 for ultimate effectiveness in the role he was given.

too many drafts that can never rack up 10 possessions a game really cost the tigers. tigers need a good bench or they will always run out of gas.

These things happen when well over half your side are kids who haven't gained anywhere near full AFL fitness yet.

put simply we are not going to win many games ever with such shocking skills across the board. i was at the game and i reckon we gifted at least 5 or 6 goals to them with shocking turnovers.

I dont want kingsley to play either. I was suggesting to Krustyman that one of the players who got less then 10 possies was Kingsley one of those experience players he is so keen on us playing.

For all the shit yiu cop on here dude, I will give you credit. You do come across as very negative which gets people offside, but this is Richmond after all, there's little to get us excited about.
I very seldom disagree with your opinion, just the way you deliver it. Agree with 95% of you wrote there.Just reckon we played a a lot better than the Eagles game today. Should have won our last 4 games. Stick simmonds in the ruck and Brown up in the forward line, and we're not far away from the 8.
No rose coloured glasses here. Just a depth problem at Richmond. Get games into kids like Edwards and King and eventually we will win those games.
