THE SIX POINTS
- Sunday’s match will be the first of two home games at Fremantle Oval for the Fremantle Dockers with large crowds expected to fill the ground wanting to catch their first glimpse of AFLW footy in WA.
- A light shower is forecast for the Fremantle area on Sunday. While we have seen what Brisbane is capable of in the wet, hopefully Fremantle will be able to stay hot on the Lions’ tails.
- Melissa Caulfield made history as the first goal scorer for Fremantle but was the only goal scorer for Freo. Fremantle finished round one with the third lowest goal accuracy (12.5%) out of the eight teams while Brisbane had the second highest (57.1%).
- Fremantle’s controlled ball movement in round one resulted in a higher disposal efficiency (56.4%) than Brisbane’s (50%). However Brisbane had more possessions (172 disposals) in wet conditions to Fremantle’s (156 disposals).
- Brisbane are coming off a physical game finishing with 62 tackles to Fremantle’s 44.
- Fremantle’s Ebony Antonio will miss this week due to her one match suspension for her high bump on Bulldogs’ Jess Gardner and Akec Makur Chuot could miss after spending the second half of last week’s match on the bench with concussion. Brisbane’s Jamie Stanton suffered a shoulder injury after a rough tackle from Melbourne forward Richelle Cranston.
