After having our arses handed to us last week by the form team of the competition, we face another form team, probably third behind the Cats, in Essendon. The Bombers are playing with rare verve and panache similar to their coach's last team, the aforementioned pussies.

The bombers are without Chappy and Fletcher, but can Freo capitalise on this with our deficiencies in the midfield? Sorely missing our star in-and-under players Fyfe and Barlow, who as well as being brilliant outside players, also provide the defensive assistance up the ground for the back six to be as dominant as they have been until last week. The returns of Dawson and Clancee will help shore up the defence, and with 39 touches for the latter with Peel last week, hopefully some much needed possession.

Without Fletcher out and on a warm day, including Taberner in the forward line as a CHF may prove handy, with his ariel ability and enormous tank. Simpson looks like he will play after missing the game for Peel yesterday. Most Freo fans will be wondering how he'll handle the pressure but there's also excited anticipation for what he can bring. Zaarke's return provides more than useful help in the ruck. He also is an electric athletic type who can cause trouble in the air and on the ground.

The biggest question for Freo fans before the game will be how our patchwork midfield hold up against the Dons's first rate one.

Should team selections stay as they are, a combination of our tall ins, defensive reinforcements and the weather, and as I'm pathologically disinclined to tip agains the Dockers, I'm predicting a draw. Our second and RTB's fifth as coach, I think.

Really looking forward to this one despite the odds being stacked against us.

Beautiful day for footy, should be a cracking crowd as the Dons have lots of WA members, and I get to catch up with me old cheese for a few coldies. Life's good.

We may lose, but with our outs, a gutsy showing and a close match would not be too disappointing for me.

Any BF crew heading to the Vic beforehand?

Our backline is pretty much full strength. We have some good depth coming into the team. Clancee had a blinder last week and Clarke has the potential to tear a game apart. Bart Simpson will chime in with a couple of magic goals and Taberner is another very good tall marking option. Sand islands will monster them in the ruck and give our players first use of the footy making a mockery of Mathews comment last week. Dockers by 5 points in a nail biter

Love your confidence, and hope you are right. If your mid field gets slaughtered it doesn't matter if you have an all Australian back line.

This will be an incredibly hard one for us.

Really want one of our younger players to put in a BOG effort. Blokes like Clarke, Neale etc both of these guys have played in huge games now and we need to see them step up when the club needs them too.
Too many changes for us to win I think, but am looking for a marked improvement from last week and for Simpson to set everyones tongues wagging come Monday.
Go Freo.

Yep,your dead right, hopefully our incredible ruck dominance gives us first use of the pill and we can smash it forward and lock it in our forward 50 for minutes at a time.

Going to need a 3 brownlow vote performance from 211 IMO.

Chapman and Fletcher are both named. No sign of Bellchambers and Ryder though so their ruckman will be Carlisle with Daniher pinchhitting in the forward half?

Be interesting seeing as we're going tall with Clarke and Sandi...

Didn't you hear? Leigh "I was the best player the world has ever seen...ever..ever" Matthews reckons 211 is the most overrated player the world has ever seen ..ever...ever!

Go Sandi!

It's not so much confidence but optimistic would be the right word. We'll be right in this game

I really hope Joshy doesn't get the green vest. Would love for him to get a full game to show his stuff. I'm a real fan of Josh

Not really expecting to win, but hope to give a contest. Feel that we are rolling the dice with josh, but hey, why not shake things up a bit. Glad chapman is not playing.

Go dockers!

Wonder if Chappy and Fletcher would have played if Freo was full strenght. Myers is a big out for them, I wonder if he travelled?
