So why was this game played under Covid conditions? Weird that there was nobody in the stadium.

NEPO BABIES had no fans show up, about 4K Gold coast fans there despite free juinor and family ticket packages (yes totally free tickets, included a GC jumper for the kids if they were registered for QAFL juniors).

Our Queensland and NSW supporters are just absolutely fabulous for rocking up in such huge numbers in the weather, and again (like the game against GWS) great praise to the East Coast cheer squad for the banners and the rowdy chants in such a feral location.

We've come a long way in East Coast cheer squads since I waved in goals when we lost to Colonwood at Vic Park in 1997 by 100 points.

Just so glad to see so many Queensland Freo fans out and about, if only the Nepo Babies weren't soaking up all the AFL cash and promising players maybe we'd have more connections to the Queensland folks.

Voss is amazing, but very Dockery. Gets his first goal, celebrates flexing his muscles. Goes to the bench and gets the doctor to check his Pecs, because he strained them celebrating.

Not sure the selections were great, but it's a win so all the pieces add up to it. Maybe Darcy did enough to limit Witts and give Jackson a chop out, and maybe Draper did enough to let Ryan and Cox dominate their forwards..

Witts was absolutely knackered by the end because he had Darcy crashing into him and wrestling with him all game. I’d say it worked.

delightful, absolutely bloody delightful. I knew we had the game when I saw Serong giving someone crazy eyes and the yap. too many good highlights to list but main ones for me - Brayshaw going hard at it in the last couple of mins, Amiss' goal, Bolton everything, Fyfe's return (and impact), Clark everything, wagner's goal, Vossy kicking some beauties and potentially hurting his pec in a celebration, switta's opening half, JLO being pumped.

Ras was very solid in the wet, imagine if he'd been gifted the same games MJ has been. Will be a very solid inside footballer Ras, just worried he will leave for Sydney, Carlton or Hawks because we have chosen to pump games into the likes of JOM, Banfield and Switta.

Best I've seen us play in a while. Love the pressure we brought all game. They obviously tweaked a few things in the second to stop us moving the ball quickly like we did in the first. Heart may never recover from that last 5 mins!

Clarky, Sharp and Switta just ran all day.

Conversely Freddy seemed glued to the goal square a lot of the game, not sure if that was deliberate coaching move by us, or how much it was because Dimma and the Suns played aggro positions by sending Freddy's man deep inside our F50.
