Looks like a Docherty clone to me but with slightly better instincts. if we can have another draft as good as last years we''ll be looking nicely set up for the next decade.

Agreed. Bordering on reckless at times. So much to like.
Considered too much of lad and not professional enough.
Makes me like him even more.
At its simplest form we're looking at a player with:
- superb reading of the ball
- strong intercept marking
- elite disposal
- tough contested marking and attack
The last two excites me the most. We haven't had that kind of kicking since Duffield was in the side or that level of aggro since Spurr was at his prime. He's a 5 in 1 kind of defender. To think if A. Pearce can get back in where that defence will be heading.
I also loved seeing the Hamling tussle with his man to allow Ryan to make the intercept. It reminds me perfectly of McPharlin setting up for Ibbotson/Johnson.
To think A. Pearce, Nyhuis and Collins are not in that defensive line-up yet... future is bright.
