Whoever has the official title of captain is so overrated for mine anyway. On the field all the senior players lead.

Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?
What reasons would there be for it not being Fyfe?
- Arguably best player in the comp
- The more inspirational player
- Even if he misses half a dozen games due to the back, no big deal having Mundy cover
- He's not too young
- Doesn't seem to struggle with attention
Seems a little odd.
If Nat's ego thought he had dibs on the captaincy, then it was probably good for his ego. I think the only people anxious about it are the fans. It's definitely a massive blow to Fyfe's ego. Every media interview late last year he said (between the lines) how much he wanted it. His brownlow speech was a massive call for it IMO. That said he only made leadership a priority last year and I doubt he overtook Mundy's great leadership and respect he’s gained over numerous years. He's unlucky that we have great respected older leaders at our club and I'm sure he understands that.
Regarding Fyfe's next contract... Fyfe not getting the captaincy is a blow to us resigning him! Not because he's pissed he didn't get it but more because it's harder to leave the club if you're the captain, I'm sure the club is a little anxious about it.

We call those people massive sooks.Someone who would leave their club for not being made captain is someone who probably wouldn't make a very good captain anyway.

Hackdorn spruiking on P-Aaargh this morning, saying Fyfe will now leave in 2017 after being "snubbed" for the captaincy.
Expect an announcement for a long contract and Fyfe to stay until
2022 soon.

Excellent work there Kram81

Don't you break Allikat heart. Achy breaky heart.I have it on very good authority that many at the club were upset that Fyfe didn't get the captaincy and he will definitely leave at the end of 2017.
