Back: Parker Grover Hayden

H. Forward: Headland Pavlich Tarrant
Forward: JLo Murphy Farmer
Ruck: Sandilands Bell J.Carr

Croad and Farmer always give 100%, Des cruises along in 2nd gear. His skills are over rated, and were very poor under the pressure of finals football. If we want to win premierships we need guys who will stand up in September.

Geez , you are letting your dislike get in the way of objectivity.

According to this DJ was our 6th highest ranked player for 2006.

But Rip, you can't always rely on the stats... According to that, Schofield ranked ahead of McPharlin, Murphy, Hayden, Parker, Grover and Drum. ;)

Also - I think if we're talking "best 22" then obviously Hase is in there. If we're talking Round 1, 2007 - then possibly he won't be. :(

You are right . Those stats flatter Des a bit. I actually prefer these where points are 'lost' through clangers and "earned" though doing 1% er's

Des still comes in as the 7th best average for Freo.

What is more exciting though is Peakers high rating and efficency.

C: Thornton J.Carr Mundy
HF: Crowley Pavlich Tarrant
FF: Farmer Murphy Bell

R: Sandilands Hase Peake

Dont think I have left any obvious ones out. Keeps the sides pace up and drive from the half back line thru the centre.

People put McManus in emergencies which is fine but I swear, if they don't give McManus the 6 or so games he needs to make 200, I'm gonna be pissed.

Not the best reason I have heard for selection. I prefer the one that says, "Pick the team most likely to win the game, and therefore get us closer to a Grand Final."

Would love to see Haddrill in the side round one.

Dunn ahead of Schammer, Webster, Solomon, Cook, Thornton and Parker is interesting.

I wouldn't reckon Justin would be a walk up start in the forward line. When CC said "We need help for Pav" I reckon it was Justin he was the most disapponted with.

In 4 finals now playing mostly forward He has kicked a total of 1 goal 1 which all came against Melbourne.

Murphy has kicked 3 goals 2 in two finals.

Longmuir has been almost as disappointing in finals as Headland for you lot. I think his days as a forward are numbered.

Nice work, Undertaker. I reckon you might go close with this.

Why is everyone putting Tarrant on a flank? I thought the idea was to (quote Smarty's words) recruit a "power forward"? Don't power forwards normally play in key positions?

If positions don't matter, why don't we just list the 22 as midfielders, defenders and forwards, seeing as the bench basically rotate on just as much as some of the starters?

Because Tarrant plays best as a leading forward to the wings, taking marks, then bombing it into Pavlich/Murphy/Farmer/Longmuir.

I would have
FB: Hayden, McPharlin, Parker
HB:Grover, Johnson, Black
C:Mundy, Bell, Peake
HF:Schammer, Tarrant, Hasleby
FF: Murphy, Pavlich, Farmer
Ruck:Sandilands, Crowley, J.Carr
Interchange: M.Carr, Cook, Longmuir, Dodd

Emergencies: Soloman, Headland

Too hard for the likes of me. Let's just hope there's a fully fit and firing squad to choose from with lots of selection dilemmas, and lots of desperation to keep their spots from those in the 22, and lots of desperation from those who miss out to force their way into the 22.... let's get the season off to a flyer!
