Can't really see anyone beating Nadal in this tournament and I wouldn't be surprised if he did it without losing a set. Djokovic in that form last night won't have a chance...he was probably lucky Seppi had had a couple of 5 setters before that match as he definitely tired earlier.

Nadal might lose a set to someone like Ferrer if he plays him in the semi final, but he owns all the guys in his half mentally. Maybe Murray would have some chance if he was 100% fit and firing. I think the best chance of beating him though would be the winner of the Berdych/Delpo match...but whoever wins will have to go through both Federer and Djokovic first. Doubt that will happen, and if it does I'd say they'd be done physically and mentally by the time they got to Nadal.

Federer isn't playing as well as he did at the French last year. I think last year the balls they used really suited him and the heavier ones this year don't as much. He could make the final again but if he faces Nadal I don't think it will be like last year when it seemed he might have a chance.

I think Almagro can take a set off him or even 2.He is playing very well Ferrer too.If Novak gets to the final it will be a different game, i guarantee you that.

Well in Novak. Fantastic comeback.

Although with that kind of form he doesn't stand a chance against Rafa.

So anyone actually see this Stosur/Stephens match? I went to bed but kept the radio on for updates and juding by the mini choke at the end doesn't sound like she played her best. I wonder if she actually knew Azarenka was already out? Cibulkova is a competant claycourter, gonna have to be on regardless.

Tsonga/Wawrinka matches are always interesting. I see Jo is a up a break in the 5th.

I agree on Almagro actually...I remember a couple of years ago he lost to Nadal in 3 close sets at RG in I think the quarter finals.

Maybe if he can play at that level he could take a set. Don't think he's a real threat of winning the match though unless Nadal plays badly.

Tipsarevic might beat Almagro first though...and Tipsarevic would bend over for Nadal and probably win less than 10 games.

Almagro will trouble Rafa, this is his best surface and he won't lose the point easily, meaning Nadal will have to take risks to win

None on it will be on FTA.

I would imagine it will be the same as the US Open, if she makes the final then it will it be on FTA. I don't miss the days of no Foxtel.

Looks like they are playing Melbourne's winter today

When Sam made the French final they only showed the SF and F.

And when she made the US they only showed the final, so who knows. I do remember for years they would show the USO from the quarters onwards regardless of who was playing.

Anyway Ferrer cained Granollers, I can imagine it was a boring spanish clay fest.

Ebden/Harrison in dubs QF as are Jarka and Rodi, but they just lost the first set.

i have a pretty bad feeling about nadal almagro game.Nadal always struggled against Almagro, although its 7 zip h2h, almagro had serveral chances to beat Rafa

Cibulkova

"Her topspin and her serve, I mean, she played like a man, and it's really hard to play against a man. It was driving me crazy on the court today. So it was really, really hard, really tough."

Went to bed when Tsonga was 2 sets to 1 up and Roger was 2 sets to 0 down and I knew they would both come back and win it. They've still got that mental edge over guys outside the top 4.

Exactly the same. Although I was less sure about Fed ...always knew when I woke up that Joker would have at least taken it to a 5th, and probably won. 4 match points saved, wow, kudos to him.

I was really hoping Tsonga would win last night, he really missed his chance on that MP where he had a bit of an open court, but hit the net. I went to bed after Djokovic won th 4th in the TB, result was inevitible.

As for Cibulkova, if you read those comments in the context of the whole interview I think she was trying to pay Sam a compliment, although she should probably know comments like that are gonna cause a storm. I can't imagine Sam giving a shit. I am staying scared though this whole RG, I really hope the Errani SF isn't a Schiavone style nightmare. I liked how Sam raised her game in the second though, considering she didn't play too well in the first. She was really only leading coz Domi was going nuts with errors.
