Thanks for posting Crippa, thanks for filtering through it all and giving me the times to listen at, so I don't have to listen to it all!

I quite like Finey, he at least says what he thinks and doesn't have his head up the AFL's arse. He was right about Watters.

Always good fun to listen to his Finey's final siren after a Carlton/Coll/Essendon loss!

My pleasure leeloo and I agree. Finey showed courage and independence of mind to speak up so forthrightly about Watters (whom the media had treated as untouchable because of all his media mates). He's the only one to give voice to everything I've thought about Watters from the moment he showed up at St Kilda.

The best radio I've ever heard though was Finey's live coverage of Ross Lyon's defection to Fremantle, in all its dramatic unfolding - from the whisper that Harvey had been sacked, which escalated into a rumour that Rodney Eade had been appointed to replace him, which finally exploded with the intelligence that Ross Lyon was nowhere to be found and could be in the skies on en route to Perth "as we speak". This went on for several hours and it was rivetting. The 11pm soccer programme was cancelled so that Finey could extend his inquiries and extemporize into the night. It was unforgettable radio - made more unforgettable for me because I was euphoric to discover that Lyon had escaped from the clutches of those madmen at St Kilda, to a club run by men I admire and respect, and a team I could not wait to embrace with all my heart (and who, as it so happens, have the funniest and most intelligent posters on BF).:hearts::hearts::hearts::rainbow:

Do you cop much shit for turning Crippa ?
Yes, but only from BF morons who've followed St Kilda for 5 minutes. I know plenty of old-timers who dumped their memberships when Lyon left because they could no longer stand the corruption and incompetence. The only difference between them and me is that they've turned their back on football altogether. Personally I could tolerate the incompetence. It was the corruption I could no longer live with.

It takes a heap of guts to do what you did, and it can only be accepted in certain circumstances, (which yours obviously is), or you are a turncoat.

Kudos to you my man.
