Not necessarily, but the only trade on their which is realistic is Mundy (maybe Schammer). The rest we wouldn't have much chance of getting such draft picks (even in a weak draft) and any player swaps would just be dud for dud. But if someone wants to give us a late second rounder for Dodd, we should take it and run for the hills.

Its interesting there is a clear top 4 in everyone's minds. I wonder where Hill & Rich were at this time last year. I wouldn't be surprised if we at least consider someone like Martin or Rohan for pick 4.

Is Butcher's side in the TAC finals to see what he can do in a few more games? Everyone talks about him as being a gun, but the only match I've seen him play was his worst ever. Based on that one match, he looked and kicked like a crab. But he was supposedly injured, so I have no idea what to think.

Morabito, Lucas, Fyfe, Jetta, Duncan, Sheppard, Colyer, Donaldson, Hutchings, Delborello, Weedon, Black, Winmar.

All the above guys have been invited to the national draft camp. Obviously these are the WA names that are going to come into contention.

There is also Daly and Houghton which a lot of people talk about as tall forward options. Neither were invited to national draft camp.

How does everyone rate them?

My top 3 are Morabito, Lucas, Fyfe. I know others outperformed Fyfe at the carnival. But he's been tearing it up at colts since returning.

yep thats right, i think we will see mainly delistings, trade week is becoming a bit of a joke really, they need to shorten it.

realistically the only players who MAY get traded are schammer, mundy, hasleby drum or peake (if anyone wants him).... i reckon only one of them will be traded

Inconsistent kicking styles is something that is also associated with Nick Riewoldt and Matthew Richardson, who are considered stars. What is important in their situation is that they get lots of the ball in dangerous positions.

Butcher is great in both the contested and leading marking, which is the main attributes you want in a key forward or back. Big and fast, so athleticially what you want as well. For what it is worth I reckon he is a better prospect that Jack Watts, and consequently I think he would be a very worthy pick 4.

For mine Cunnington and Martin are likely to be just grunt players at the next level, nothing likely to be above 4 star, and Lucas, whilst certainly very talented by foot and athletically, doesn't get enough of it consistently.

Yeah, nah. Until we have an elite midfield we shouldn't think about any other position on the ground. Midfielders can take effectively 16 spots in any team. You can never have too many. We'll be wasting our time with a KPP.

I've been very pro-Morabito/Trengove for a while now, but I'm really coming around on Butcher.

We probably wouldn't be winning or anything, but imagine having a guy like Butcher standing in the goal square today...Our whole forward line would look different, and we would actually have someone to kick it to.

Butcher is the best KPP in the draft, I can't imagine why you would pass on him for the 4th or 5th best midfielder.

Word is he wants out of Richmond, ignoring that they'll want something we don't want to give them, would our team be better with him in it? He's going to be 23 next year, good ball user, good mark. Might get Pavlich out of the centre?

I think he'd be best suited at Carlton, because the man left free if Deledio is tagged can do far more damage than our kids can at the moment, but that would still be nice at Fremantle.

Where do we sit on the established but still young good players verses the young potentialy good players?

If it's Morabito vs Deledio, which is the better pick?

Whose word is it? I don't believe it anyway. With Hardwick's announcement of upcoming clean out [ala ours last year], you'd think they would do anything to keep him and build a team around him. Even if he wanted out, he would want to stay in Victoria and go to a team in a premiership mode, like Collingwood or Bulldogs. Why would he want to come to Freo?

I'd take Lucas every day over Morabito. He's a better kick and only about 5cm shorter, has good pace and can get clearances as well.

I have watched alot of peel colts games this year, and they have one smart big foward who I love Aaron Black.

I know WCE have been interested for a while, and was hoping he would stay under the radar.

Unfortunately for me good for you guys, looks like he will be your second rounder if still available this year.

I would of said a 4th rounder a month ago but there is incredible amount of interest in him at the moment.

If he has a real good national draft camp could even go first round.
(I suspect he will)

So if he still available at your second pick smart/lloyd will take him.

I doubt they will be trying to trade Drum after the last few weeks and he won't be leaving, I'll eat my words if he does. Peake won't be traded.. he has no value. Murphy has little value also, Campbell in the same boat. Even if they want to, other clubs have to actually accept these deals and I just do not see it happening.

I don't expect that we'll do a deal on all those players but they'll be shopped around.

Campbell - Has told West Perth he won't be in WA next season so will be hoping to find a new club during trade week. Unlikely though.

Peake - Reckon he'll be offered a new deal but may seek a trade. Seems a bit stale at Fremantle and will have the kids breathing down his neck in 2010 and beyond. According to Hardie several Vic clubs are interested but take that with a grain of salt.

Drum - I'll be surprised if he doesn't request a trade to be honest, seemed quite bitter in that article the other week. I bet you a pint of Coopers he's not at the club next year, the swans and several Victorian clubs will probably be interested.

Murphy - Contracted, so the club will take a 4th round pick for him to avoid de-listing and having to pay him out.

Hasleby - Will be speaking to rival clubs over the next month, I doubt anyone will step forward with a 2 year deal but if they do we'll be trading him.

Mundy - Won't be traded but I included him anyway just to wind you up.

Nah he's not lying. He has been a massive bolter in the last few weeks/months. Matt Burgan listed him as this years bolter. Similar to Mitchell Brown last year who ended up going 1st round.

If he's there at our 2nd rounder, i presume our recruiters will be jumping for joy.

There's alot of peel boy's I rate ahead of him though, they are producing great talent.

Harley Bennell is one of the most exciting I have seen.
