Like Last year, this will be the thread where I'll post all results and standings. I'll keep the OP updated with latest tables etc. and post round results accordingly. As they seemed to go OK last year, I'll go with tables again, tables rock, but if I hear enough complaints I'll revert to old fashioned format.

If you're wondering how the voting and scores are calculated, see this thread. Note the changes in assigning scores mentioned in this post - players who get enough of a percentage of votes will pick up a score of 1 even if they're not in our top 7.

Suggestions, corrections etc. welcome.

I like the new rule of players being eligible for the extra 1 votes.

Would have been shame for Crowls to go unrewarded after doing a fine job in what is probably the toughest task in footy - especially when you consider 4 of Abletts possessions came from him diving for free kicks.

Last week for sure, this week it's a not so clear cut. I mean all the players above him were key contributors either way you look at it.
There is no doubt about those above him being key contributors. So far our performances have been very consistent across the board and it looks like Hilly is the one who is missing out on the votes.

Just an observation.

Yeah, that's right. Last year I thought Mundy was in a similar boat, Mayne even more so. Those players who hum along and get the job done at a high level but aren't spectacular enough often enough to catch the big votes, especially with even performances. It's a product of the 'mutually exclusive' system that we and most voting systems use.

That's the way voting works. You don't get Brownlow votes for being the 4th best on ground every week either.

I guess we could do 10-1. Would take forever though.

Hill is going better in the coaches votes. Deservedly IMO. He's so quick around packs with his hands I reckon some of his work goes unnoticed and no one is more damaging kicking inside 50.

The best system to use is one like they do for the Doig (and quite a few other B&F these days) where every voter rates EVERY player. It's the most complete system - but it's impractical for the way these forums are setup. Either system usually doesn't make a big difference to the top end, but the 'Doig' system certainly rewards that 'middle tear' performer a lot more - hence the B&F two years ago being Crowley, where he was mid table in our voting (and not even in the picture in the media voting around the country which, like the Brownlow tend to use an even more exclusive 3 to 1 voting system).

Here we go, latest round voting results. Terrible game of course, but clearly we were pretty unanimous about the two players who we can't put any blame on. Well done to Hill, who's having a ripping year so far, and Pav who's picked up top votes too for the first time this year.

Round 3 vs Hawthorn
Score Name - Votes (Number of people who voted)

7 Stephen Hill - 169 (37)
6 Matthew Pavlich - 139 (36)
5 Danyle Pearce - 83 (30)
4 Michael Johnson - 45 (23)
3 Aaron Sandilands - 25 (13)
2 Luke McPharlin - 12 (8)
1 Matthew De Boer - 8 (4)
- Tendai Mzungu - 7 (5)
- David Mundy - 6 (4)
- Paul Duffield - 6 (3)
- Cam Sutcliffe - 4 (3)

Nice work Papa J. Good to see Hilly up at the pointy end. Hopefully he will stay up there over the year.
Nice that he's no longer just a fair weather player in terms of his influence. I've never really thought he was, he always seems to be battling away, just that he normally polls better when we win.

Says lots more about the voters than the player.
Probably deserves its own thread but the list of "most talented/valuable and most slagged by bigfooty posters" would have Stephen Hill at No 1.

Comes with the territory of being a high draft pick who was very undeveloped physically when he made his debut and copped a huge amount of attention from taggers before he was really ready for it.
I argued black and blue that he would need lots of time to reach his potential to those who were bagging him out in his 2nd and 3rd year. He's still got a way to go. Is going to be magnificent between 25 and 30.

Much better this week. Interesting voting; after McPharlin, there really isn't much between the top 5 or 6 players. Well done to all of them.

Some usual suspects amongst the top votes and there wasn't much in it amongst the top 3 - big drop off after that though which is often the case in a loss. Anyway, here are the numbers.

Round 5 vs Sydney
Score Name - Votes (Number of people who voted)

7 Nathan Fyfe - 150 (34)
6 David Mundy - 137 (36)
5 Matthew Pavlich - 136 (37)
4 Aaron Sandilands - 50 (22)
3 Michael Johnson - 26 (17)
2 Stephen Hill - 14 (11)
1 Danyle Pearce - 13 (10)
- Zac Dawson - 7 (5)
- Lachie Neale - 3 (2)
- Ryan Crowley - 1 (1)
- Tendai Mzungu - 1 (1)

Disappointing and not entirely expected result seems to have kept voters away this week. Nevertheless, there wasn't much argument about who was BOG with Fyfe dominating the voting. Here's who we thought at least did their part in the game.

Round 6 vs Nth. Melbourne
Score Name - Votes (Number of people who voted)

7 Nathan Fyfe - 98 (24)
6 David Mundy - 57 (18)
5 Matthew Pavlich - 32 (14)
4 Michael Johnson - 28 (12)
3 Danyle Pearce - 27 (11)
2 Lachie Neale - 13 (8)
1 Luke McPharlin - 7 (2)
1 Paul Duffield - 6 (4)
- Aaron Sandilands - 2 (1)
- Cam Sutcliffe - 2 (1)
- Hayden Crozier - 1 (1)
