Freo by 40.

I hope this doesn't smack of arrogance but I don't fear them. I watched their Round 1 game against Richmond and for a long period of time the Tigers locked them down, they went 45 minutes between goals at one point. I expect we can pressure them harder and for longer than Richmond managed.

Anyway

Mundy 4 goals

The weather didn't help the young GC side at all.I didn't think they were as bad as the scoreline indicates, with big bodies always going to dominate in those condirions.

Anyone who thinks that Bluey McKenna can coach really needs to learn a thing or two about footy.

I realise that I'm only repeating what Shaw and Brereton rabbited on about on TV, (I just watched the replay), but at the game yesterday I was amazed about no 3rd man up against Sandi and Mundy standing unattended at the back of stoppages. Astounding!

Make a comparison with McKenna and Ken Hinkley at Port, even Richardson at the Saints, in their style and game day ability and it is like dogs knackers.

No one seemed to be tagging Hill either
Yep. You'd think that he'd be attempting to drive some accountability into a talented young playing group like that. Even though they won the stoppages, (which I maintain is a crap stat - as proven yesterday), they structured up in such a way that it really meant zilch.

Terrible, terrible coaching, but the GC seem to love him

Interesting the comments about McKenna. Being in WA all we are going to hear is what a great job he is doing, but at the time he was coaching Claremont there was a lot of concern about his coaching and him as a person. I think Gold Coast have had enough concessions maybe they deserve Guy McKenna!

Yeah, from what I know, he completely lost the Claremont playing group and generally acted like a tool.

That's why so many of us were in disbelief that he got the GC gig and now continues to get contract extensions. Yesterday hasn't changed my opinion one bit.
