That second half was a waste of time watching. Playing keepies off and no interest in scoring or taking any risks going forward whatsoever. Sometimes I wish we would go for throat instead of playing safe. But whatever, another win and a huge game next week

I am rapt that we got the win, great first half and showed what we are capable of when we put the foot down.

For me the disappointing aspect of the last half is that we don't seem to be able to switch to "tempo football" without allowing the opposition to score pretty easily. There is a need for this style of footy at times as we can't play balls to the wall for the whole game, so we need to learn to do it better. Make better decisions, hit targets - simple.

Fantastic game from Alex Pearce and when we can afford to play him full-time in the forward line we will look very potent.

Yeah well the first half was fantastic. Just the second half was so frustrating. Our backline just played kick to kick for large portions.

I suppose it comes down to finals. If we win the games in finals without putting together a 4 quarter performance, i'll still be happy. Hell if we make it to the GF and win it in the first half and then coast for the rest, i'll still be fine with that The only 'worry' is if the lack of 4 quarters bites us.

that's when we can panic - there's nothing "panic worthy" about today. I truly believe we were 'resting' and have done that in other games this year, to keep something in reserve. Injuries have denied us success in previous finals.

I agree to some extent, but if the plan secures us a win and keeps our players healthy whilst still closing in on 100 points you can't really complain.

The bombing to packs was interesting in the second half as we generally had Hawthorn like precision with our short kicking in the first half... Makes me wonder if we've been coasting through the last couple of months and now we're going to bring out our A game at the perfectt moment.

I agree with you FreoGirl, we were never going to lose it after that amazing first half. We needed to conserve and focus on the long term - i.e. GRAND FINAL. What we didn't need to do was make dumb errors and let easy goals in. We just need to tidy up that aspect of our game a bit.

Yeah I agree with that. I'd rather have good man management than focus on big scores that in the end mean nothing.

Bad thing is if opposition kick straight,

One trick , two mistake one goal or two mistake injured himself always get away with it.Freo got blakely ,grey , langdon , max duff waiting for their chance. I will show no sympathty he is been paid quit a good contract coming to freo. If he want to renew it get a paid cut , take it or leave it.
